lamont has been a brother of mine since we crossed paths in community college. it seems like i have known him since birth and he has been a part of my family for quite awhile. i guess being a fellow california transplant from the south, we had many things in common. he has exposed me to many great people & co-conspired in many great adventures! i would do anything for this man as he would do for me. i have been lucky to have his guidance, insight, and love, in my life.

from the day i saw her swinging on the monkey bars in the 2nd grade, i knew she was my sister soulmate! we even have our own language! her house was my afterschool program and we got into all sorts of trouble. but it was even more fun helping each other out of it. she knows me better than i do and can often predict what's going to happen next in my life; it's quite uncanny, really. she and hubby rod are the reason i met my love! so THANK YOU again for picking me up to go out that night!!
aside from always being right, roma's strong, beautiful, successful, and fun! she's ALWAYS good for a laugh whether it's when she does her quirky dances, her facial expressions on camera, or simply reminiscing on a lifetime together. she's quite fabulous and I've been lucky to have her by my side since the 2nd grade!

a player that can start or come off the bench and still be productive. j, my big bro, has been one of the most influential people in my life. he showed me many sides of things, but at the same time allowed me to make decisions for myself. he was there for my grade school days, teenage years, and anything else i can think of. i am proud to have him as part of my groomsmen crew.

scouting report on this guy, is that he can take them in the paint and score at will, but chooses to make jumpers rain from deep like a belizean rain forest. he may no longer have the dunking ability of days past, but occasionally will slap glass, foam, or both to prove a point.
just the other day at the gym, as i was serving up some jumper sandwiches and assists, a friend mentioned "looked like your game was a flashback of 10 years ago, all you were missing was EJ and it would be complete." that is exactly what you need to know of this cat, he has been my right hand man since undergrad at csu, sacramento and little has changed other then a beautiful wife and a beautiful little girl.

(sorry annie - had to!) with her panache and love for the "finer things in life" (i.e. dingy dance joints) we killed the summer of 2002! our friendship has blossomed over adventures of sushi, wit, laughter, womanhood, unintelligible "big words," (ie. the likes of those found in the book "everybody poops") and 90mph conversations. i feel like whenever we're together we giggle like little girls about EVERYTHING! so glad to have her in my life!

korey and i started out as college roommates and became brothers. when i first met this cat, i thought "i have so much direction and molding [especially in musical taste LOL] to give him." little did i know, he would be doing most of the molding and guiding. korey shaped every persons life he came in contact with and i was lucky enough to be a part of that. i was in his wedding and he knew he would be a part of mine.
sadly, korey passed away in february 2007. so to pay homage to my brother, he will be in our wedding in spirit. teresa and i thought it would only be fitting to have a moment to commemorate korey's friendship and brotherhood to me.

although we met less than 5 years ago, i feel like i've known her a lifetime! having met on the stage, we quickly discovered that not only do we share a passion for singing & music, but also for food, vino, dancing, love & life! we became friends instantly!
it's crazy how many memories we've created and how close we've grown since we've met. she's been a wonderful addition to my family, we've got many more memories ahead, bella! she's been a lifesaver many a times and a constant inspiration. i've said it before - i swear, marji is me - but italian! ;)

i met this venezuelan beauty while working in EOP at sac state. (hi nai! hi lin!) although she's left me to go live in washington, her caring and sincerity resonate in my life. she's the kind of person that will go out of her way to make your life better. gotta love her!
with so much in common, and miles apart, we still remain very close and learn and grow with each other. she adds so much zest to my life! adam and i always have a great time when she and her new husband, jamal, are in town. by the way, she & jamal are the the salsa king & queen of Portland - so watch out for them on that dance floor!

straight out of south florida, this kid has been known to light up the score board. a flat out scorer!
each member of the team represents a different part of my life, so it is great that florida is representing! gary has known me the longest out of any member of the team [minus J]. we grew up together in fort lauderdale until i had to make the switch out to the west coast. fortunately, we have been able to maintain contact and keep tabs on each other's progress. it is interesting to me that i don't have to physically see a person, to know what a great influence he has on me.

leslie and i take it back to elementary school. she's ever the creative one & encourager. we were the ones singing the loudest in the choir, writing our own plays, learning how to juggle, hypothesizing science experiments, learning other languages, learning how to cut hair, and always aspiring for greatness.
we spent so much time together during grade school. she's a bay area gal at heart, and although we miss out on the last minute lunches & dinners, nothing has changed between us. we've seen each other grow so much, and i always knew she'd be one of my bridesmaids.

KT, hailing from howard university, is an all out banger. this man can come through in the clutch and give your team that much needed support both on and off the court. he also knows how to throw out the timely assist [see our story - wedding proposal in D.C.]
ken, the newest member of the team, connected with me in grad school and we have been linked ever since. this is a man that i will be connected with for life, no matter if the title is co-workers, co-creators, co-hip hopper and any other co pilot ideas cats can come up with. KT has been a great friend, brother, and guide as i enter the responsible section of my life. ;)

i LOVE it when genina's around! (and not only because she takes the butt of the jokes off me, but she's fun!) this firecracker is the most unpredictable freebird on earth! she's crazy and that's why we love her. we met during highschool and have been inseparable since!
when you need a last minute vacation - she's down! if you need a shoulder to cry on - she's down! if you need a pick me up - she's down! And she'd do it from across the country, no doubt.
time & distance are no obstacles for her in any aspect of her life. she makes waves wherever she goes and is truly one of the joys in my life. she's fearless & i admire her. oh yeah, and you might wanna watch out for her on the dance floor as well...
