Pappadeaux - Cajun Seafood
Pappadeaux has really good seafood and is conveniently located on I-35.
Z'Tejas
Z'Tejas is a great Southwestern restaurant. I believe it is Alan's Aunt Susan's favorite. I love their chili relleno, but everything I've ever tried has been excellent. This is a nicer place than Maudie's or Trudy's if that's what you're looking for.
Maudie's - TexMex
Maudie's has GREAT breakfast tacos...Pete's tacos specifically. The rest of their food is great too, another good texmex restaurant. Once again there are several locations to choose from.
Guero's Taco Bar
Guero's is a great place if you're looking to have a fun South Congress experience. They have an outside area where they usually have live music playing and you can get a margarita and enjoy the evening while waiting for your table. Great food as well!
Hula Hut - Lake Austin
Hula Hut is on Lake Austin and has a really fun, Austin atmosphere. They serve texmex with a hawaiian twist.
El Chile
El Chile has really great fish tacos and a really great margarita called the Chilango Margarita, it is a spicy orange infused frozen margarita... very good!
Trudy's - TexMex
Trudy's has good texmex food and are known for their Mexican Martini's. We usually go to the one close to campus, but there are several locations.
