The theme of our wedding is "Breakfast at Tiffany's" inspired by the 1961 American film starring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard. We want to capture the elegance of Audrey Hepburn and the sheer simple-sophistication of the Tiffany & Co.
Our motif is Tiffany Blue and Silver.
Blue is calming. It can be strong and steadfast or light and friendly. Almost everyone likes some shade of the color blue. A natural color, from the blue of the sky, blue is a universal color. The cool, calming effect of blue makes time pass more quickly. In many diverse cultures blue is significant in religious beliefs, brings peace, or is believed to keep the bad spirits away. Blue conveys importance and confidence without being somber or sinister. In feng shui, we associate blue with the clear sky and the healing, refreshing waters. Needless to say, blue sapphire is the birthstone of the bride.
Silver, especially a shiny, metallic silver, is cool like gray but livelier, more playful. Silver can be sleek and modern or impart a feeling of ornate riches. Silver often symbolizes riches, just as gold does. Silver can be glamorous and distinguished. The color silver can be earthy, natural or sleek and elegant.
A third color is added in our basic color motif for the wedding entourage. This color is cream, this is synonymous with beige or represent various shades of the color cream like that of buff, camel, oatmeal, tan, sand, biscuit, ecru, mushroom.
Cream is a chameleon, taking on some of the attributes of stronger warm or cool colors it accompanies. On its own, the color beige is a calm neutral background. A touch of cream warms up a palette of cool blues without overpowering them.
Cream has traditionally been seen as a conservative, background color. In some cultures, cream garments symbolizes piety or simplicity.
This is the psychology of our color theme.
With this joint theme in mind, our long time friend coutorier Dong Omaga-Diaz has created a collection for the bride and the whole wedding entourage that depicts the simplicity and elegance of Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Dong is the current president of the Fashion Design Council of the Philippines (FDCP). He is the first in the country and so far the only winner of the most prestigious LESAGE PRIX at the Concours International de Jeune Creatures de Mode (International Young Designers Competition) held annually in Paris, France. Dong was also a scholar at the ECOLE DE LESAGE in Paris and apprenticed at the house of Lesage also in Paris.
