DIY

I'm an artistic and creative person, and I'd love to save some money by putting a few of the wedding details together myself.

Invitations

Invitations

I am so proud of these! I designed them in Gimp 2.0, and printed them on 4.5 x 6.5 white cardstock. The backing is moss green canvas textured cardstock that I cut myself into 5 x 7 pieces. I'll be doing the RSVP cards, maps, and programs in the same style!

Hanging flowers

Hanging flowers

Although I am NOT a fan of silk/fake flowers, I have started to make strings of silk orchids to hang behind us at the ceremony. My florist encouraged me to do this, as having the real thing would have put my costs through the roof!

Toss Bouquet

Toss Bouquet

I couldn't bear the thought of my beautiful bouquet being shredded, and didn't really want to spend extra money on real flowers that would end up being mangled. I ended up making this one from silk flowers I found at Hobby Lobby :)

Candy Buffet

Candy Buffet

We plan on having a small candy buffet available for our guests. I love the looks of these displays (ours will be in green/brown/pink). There will be a container or bag of some sort at each seat with a note for guests to go fill up on the treats!

Photo Sharing Cards

Photo Sharing Cards

I designed these in GIMP and ordered them from Vistaprint! I will probably put them by the candy buffet..

Petal Cones

Petal Cones

I would like to make petal cones as well. I am going to wait until I decide on the invitations to pick the paper and then I'll start making them. They're simple enough, and I love wedding pictures where the petals are being tossed as the bride and groom walk back down the aisle.
