Getting to Ottawa and Gatineau is easy by rail, car or plane. Travel within the city can be a little more complex with lots of one way streets, a canal, and a two rivers.

By Car - Directions from Toronto

Directions from Toronto to Museum of Civilization:
1. Head east on the 401 and from Toronto drive approximately 300 kilometers.
2. Take exit "416 Ottawa" and travel for approximately 75 kilometers.
3. Take exit "417 East Ottawa".
4. Take exit "Kent Street".
5. At the end of Kent Street is Wellington Street, turn left onto Wellington Street. This will become the Ottawa River Parkway.
6. Shortly after travelling on the Ottawa River Parkway, turn right onto Portage Bridge/Pont du Portage.
7. Cross over the river into Gatineau and turn right onto Laurier Street/rue Laurier.

By Plane - Ottawa International Airport

All major (and many minor) airlines fly in and out of the Ottawa International Airport. Options within Canada include Air Canada, WestJet and Bearskin Airlines. The airport is only 16 kilometers from Gatineau so it is a quick taxi ride, or you can rent a car at the airport.

By Train - VIA Rail

The Ottawa Train Station only 7 kilometers from Gatineau so it is a quick taxi ride.
