Andrew & Malia

Wedding Party & Friends

It was so very difficult to choose from among the many men and women who have deeply impacted us over the course of our lives. We both feel so blessed at how God has provided us with such incredible relationships!

Jenn Whitmill

Maid of Honor/Best Friend
Jenn Whitmill

-Favorite color:
Kelly Green

-Current favorite song:
"Soldier" by Ingrid Michaelson

-Where to find her:
Suckered into playing fetch with Bella

Jenn and I have walked an unusual path in friendship since the summer of 2005. We met as Campers In Leadership Training at our beloved Redwood Camp, unaware that God had big plans for us. Now, four years later, we're housemates and best friends at Biola University in Los Angeles.

Through the ups and downs of life this past year Jenn has become a life-line in friendship, sisterhood, and support. She quickly became my confidante and companion in matters of the heart as well as the faith. I have been priveleged to live life alongside of someone whom I admire and respect as much as Jenn.

Amanda Heuberger

Bridesmaid/Best Friend
Amanda Heuberger

-Favorite color:
Orange

-Current favorite song:
"Fever" by Peggy Lee

-Where to find her:
Drinking chai in Oregon

Amanda might know me better than anyone I can think of. As my roommate of three years, she couldn't be more knowledgeable about the ins-and-outs of who I am and how I operate. I have seen such an example of Christ in how well she loves others (and me)!

Amanda has been the dearest and most true friend I've ever had. We've had so many moments that I will cherish forever: laughing, crying, exploring, studying, cooking, eating, learning, praying, shopping, relaxing, exercising, talking, driving, you name it! There is no way to describe how grateful I am that God brought us together.

Lili Chargin

Bridesmaid/Best Friend
Lili Chargin

-Favorite color:
Turquoise/Plum

-Current favorite song:
"Us" by Regina Spektor

-Where to find her:
In a meeting at school

Lili has been my most consistent and un-changing friend. Our friendship started in high school and since then we have enjoyed silliness as a common language.

Though life has taken us both in entirely different directions, and an entire continent now exists between us, I'm happy to say that we have been able to preserve the unique elements of our friendship. Lili has been an immense source of joy and encouragement in my life, even at a distance; our friendship reminds me not to take life too seriously. In the midst of ever-evolving circumstances she is always able to make time for me -- something that has and will always mean a lot.

Katie Clark

Bridesmaid/Sister-to-Be
Katie Clark

-Favorite color:
Green

-Current favorite song:
"Where does the good go" by Tegan and Sara OR "Fire and Rain" by James Taylor (depending on my mood)

-Where to find her:
The UW law library... boring but true.

Though Katie and I aren't officially sisters yet, she has been eagerly welcoming me into her family for years! I have so appreciated her warm reception and her investment in our friendship.

Katie has shown me what it means to live life "to the fullest" and make things happen. I have been blessed the last few years to see further into her heart and better understand what makes her the woman she is: passion, commitment, love, and discipline. I am so excited about the new depths our relationship will be able to explore!

Jeffrey Clark

Best Man
Jeffrey Clark

Our proximity in age and shared interests made my younger brother Jeff one of my best friends growing up. Over the last few years I have loved watching Jeff grow into an amazing man of God, and I am looking forward to seeing his continued growth and successes at Biola.

I know I will always be able to count on Jeff's love and support in the years to come, and I am so glad to have him in this role for my wedding.

Charlie Clark

Groomsman
Charlie Clark

I have always looked up to my older brother Charlie, and his role as a mentor growing up helped shaped me into the man Malia fell in love with, so I can't thank him enough. His humor and fun loving attitude always make for good times, and I am really looking forward to what he'll bring to this wedding party.

Bryan Morris

Groomsman
Bryan Morris

Bryan is my best friend from high school. We went to church together at Saratoga Federated and had some very good times, and although for the last few years we have lived in different cities it is so easy for me to see Bryan and pick up our friendship right where it left off. He is a great person and friend, and I am so glad he can (hopefully) be a part of my wedding.

Jeremy Lenhof

Groomsman
Jeremy Lenhof

Jeremy was next door to me in the dorms my freshman year and we have been great friends ever since. He has been a housemate of mine since sophomore year and we have had a great time together. Through Bible studies and trips to the dunes, I think Jeremy knows me better than anyone else down at school and I am glad to have such a consistent friend.

We are in our last year living together but I am confident that when college has passed us by and real life is in full swing, our friendship will still be going strong.

"Little Kate" Johnson

Honorary Little Sister
"Little Kate" Johnson

My precious, sweet Little Kate. We have often joked that she is a little "mini-me", but that may just be the blond hair, sassy attitude, and matching birthday.

The year I worked for the Johnsons Kate and I became nearly inseparable. A love developed that was stronger than friendship and could only be described as "honorary sisterhood". Even though I moved away to Los Angeles for college, she is always ready for fun during my visits home. She is one of the smartest, silliest, most creative and fun people I have ever known and I am so blessed by our relationship. I pray that our lives will continue to intersect as we both continue growing up.

Julia, Katie, and Emily Monson

Honorary Little Sisters
Julia, Katie, and Emily Monson

Julia:
The oldest sister in my "surrogate" Southern California family. I met Julia when she was in 5th grade and she quickly became one of my best friends in a new place. Her passionate heart combined with her many talents makes her one of the most natural leaders I've ever known, and I can't wait to see what the Lord will do with her life as she continues growing up.

Katie:
Out of all three girls I have had the privilege of watching Katie grow the most. From 3rd grade to 6th grade she has become an increasingly mature and capable young lady. Katie has always charmed me with her creativity and quick-wit. I have especially appreciated our time together in the past year where I have been able to see more of her unique identity. To quote Dr. Seuss, "Oh the places she'll go!"

Emily:
If anyone could bring truth to the statement "sugar and spice and everything nice" it would be Emily. What a source of joy she has been in my life! She is always innovating, achieving, and ready to play. Her loving nature reflects her love for the Lord and she has been my personal example of a "child-like faith". I am so eager to see what kind of godly woman she will become. In the meantime I will cherish the remaining moments of her childhood.

Greg Franklin & Charlie Walter

Masters of Ceremony
Greg Franklin & Charlie Walter

These two incredible men were Andrew's 'rotation brothers' at Redwood Camp in the summer of 2008. Although time and space have kept the three of them apart for the past year, they remain very special to one another.

Greg and Charlie's are two of the truest hearts in both friendship and faithfulness to the Lord, and we couldn't be more blessed to have them on the mic at our reception.
