Andrew & Stephanie

Our Story

Ok-So Andrew thinks he is too cool to write anything on our wedding website. SO now I look lame, and totally uncool. But, oh well, I'm a girl. I'm allowed to be lame about wedding stuff! I'm also putting what I think Andrew would say on the subject.

How We Met

Steph's Story:
I remember the first time I saw Andrew. I was standing at the courtesy desk at the Peterborough Wal-Mart, and he was coming up to pick up his recovery. As he was walking away I said to Jan "I love that guy from shoes". Jan then went on a mission to check him out, and gave me her approval of him. That was in July, then fast forward to the end of September. Prof. Quaid gave us a dumb resume project for my recruitment and selection class. In typical Quaid style she set out dumb rules to go along with a dumb project. You had to use someone's resume who went to Trent, and they could not have had their resume used before or be in the class. Since I waited until the last minute to do the project I was scrambling for resumes. All my friends or friends of friends, had either given their resume before or was in the class.
So one night I stopped Andrew and asked for his. I gave Andrew my email and that night received the resume. The body of the email said "Here's my msn, feel free to add me". So over the next month we talked on msn and in the break room. At the start of November, after waiting for Andrew to make his move, I gave in and asked Andrew to hang out. That was our first date of many.

What Andrew would say:
We met at Wal-Mart where we both worked.

Our First Date

Steph's Story:
Our first date happened on the evening of the "Help the Homeless BBQ". After I barbecued for a few hours for the homeless I showed up at Andrew's house for our first date. My perfume of choice of choice was the smell of charcoal. We decided that we would rent a movie. So we headed over to blockbuster. I really wanted to see "Cars" so after some convincing Andrew said yes. :D The rest is, as they say, history.

What Andrew Would Say:
We hung out and watched a movie.

The Proposal

April 9th, 2008

Steph's Story:
Some people may not say this was the most un-romantic proposal, but I don`t think it could be any less romantic. :D On April 9th, 2008 Andrew told me he was going to Peterborough for the day and wouldn`t be able to pick me up from work, but he would be back around dinner time. Once I got home, I continued the packing, since we were moving on the Saturday, and as I was standing in kitchen Andrew came home. He walked into the kitchen and said hi. He then went "Can I ask you something?" Not expecting anything at all, I was just like ok. He turned me around, and got down on one knee. I started to cry and then said yes! I then called home, and when my dad answered the phone I went "Guess what I'm getting married!" My dad went "I know". LOL Turns out Andrew had gone to Fergus after being in Peterborough for the morning, to ask for my dad's blessing. He was going to wait until the weekend, but after he told my parents, he just couldn't. :D It may have been a simple proposal but it couldn't have been any sweeter, especially since Andrew couldn't wait to ask me!

What Andrew Would Say:
I proposed. She said yes.
