♥♥ Our Wedding Day ♥♥ The Morning Part ♥♥

Seng Kang

My day started bright & early at around 0550h on 19 December 2009. Turned off the alarm clock & once I brushed my teeth, there was a knock on my house door. The MUA (MakeUp Artist) was already here, then followed by our PG (photographer), Edmund! Soooo early!! Had a quick shower and I was ready for make up!

The proposal ring on my fourth finger will soon be replaced by my wedding band - a symbol of our promise to be bound to each other in marriage

Getting dolled up. Notice how Edmund incorporates "my flying" with the 喜喜 word :)

Gosh. Look at those eyebags and my red eye!

My lovely bustier gown

I ♥ the flower ball done by Aisyah

In the meantime, the guys were having fun posing for our photographer Edmund at our new place :) I think my school uniform theme for them brought back memories for them!

BOYS. Once you turn your head on them, they start fighting :p

Standard class photo. This is what you call the formal shot.

Ah Bengs!!! Their buay-song expressions tickles me, especially WQ's unbuttoned shirt, Linus's "want-to-fight" face, and not to mention our 2 Elders in their school boy get-up!!

Tick tock tick tock.

The Jie meis started arriving in full force with their teacher get-ups :) Here's a shot of them deep in discussion about what to do to the guys. I wasn't keen on doing the standard <酸甜苦辣> 闹门 games, but have requested for one forfeit idea from my friend's sister's wedding! Read on!

Pam & Aisyah doing the final touch up for me.. Not before I sneaked away to the living room later! I'm an active bride - just couldn't sit still! :D

I ♥ my polaroid pictures!!

A picture with my mommy dearest :)

Our very good friend Stacia, who's next in line to get married :D

With my mommy, SIL, Kor kor and the latest addition to our family, Baby Kariel :)

My lovely girls from secondary school

A quick shot with my Jiemeis before the guys arrive!

As you can see from the pictures below, the guys indeed have a lot of time to spare!! Of course lah, where got bride & groom stay so close to each other one?? Less than 10 minutes apart if you brisk walk leh!

Motorists must be wondering how come got so many old men in school uniform on a Saturday morning! Hee :p

"Not happy ar? Fight ar!!"

Poor WQ! Heh!

Footwear!! Whose is whose? *stuffs nose with tissue*

One more photo before picking up the bride!

Wahahaha so cute, they're walking two-by-two!!

In case the parking pontianak catches any of the cars parked illegally downstairs :p

I couldn't stop laughing when I saw Wendy's teacher outfit!! Wah liew.. Don't play play with this discipline mistress!! SO zappy looking!

"Have you been naughty? Maybe you need to be caned.." Wendy did not say that!! Wahahaha.

Eh eh, this is the forfeit I'm talking about! Super kick-ass funny & photo-worthy!!

Our daring best man WQ!! And not to forget the other 2 brave men fathers (of two & three respectively) who wore it!!

Someone is taking the sucking very seriously! Wahahaha.

Later on, some of the Jiemeis, assuming that the guys are not aware, tried to make their way back into my place.. Only to be stunned by the guys as they tried to force their way in!

BRUTE FORCE vs SHEER DETERMINATION

And we know which party won (and didn't even give angbaos <-- A FIRST TIME IN HISTORY!!!) Hahaha. The guys had a few forfeits to do before Hubby could pick me up, including a Malay language test, eating Macs Hotcakes in many different sauces, a "NAIL" challenge given by Mom, come up with a poem for me, and lastly sing a song for me!

I had initially wanted Hubby to sing 心肝宝贝 but he insisted he didn't know how to sing.. So he sang "I'm Yours" instead.

As I was alone in the room, I had to tell him to wait for me to unlock the door, run back to my chair at the end of the room, cover the veil and say OK before he can open the door. Wahahaha.

The helpful bystanders looking on ;)

Can't stop kissing! :p

We know who is the Boss in the r/s *smirks*

Thank God I didn't have to walk over to PIL's place!!

Making funny faces en route to PIL's place..

老公喂老婆吃甜汤 (or was it 汤圆?)

My Jiemeis all pretty in yellow!!

With some of the Brothers

I ♥ this series of shots! Reminds me of the pedestrian crossing - yellow & black!

Hubby and me in the car ready to set off to church!

Bless the Wans for loaning us their car for our BIG DAY :) Gorgeous isn't it?

See you at the church wedding!

♥♥ Our Wedding Day ♥♥ Church Wedding ♥♥

Living Sanctuary Brethren Church

Special thanks to my cell group members who came the night before our wedding to set up the reception area, to Addy - who got my decor stuff & came down bright & early on Saturday morning to touch up on the reception decor despite being sick, to Kara - who made sure that the church event flowed on smoothly, to Elina for providing the bird cages (for the garden theme), to A. Ivy for making my 2 beautiful angbao boxes, to my cell girls: Audrey, Heli, Debbie, Wendy for manning the reception, to Joe & Wanhui for agreeing to emcee our wedding & making it full of laughter, and most importantly to my mom who did the pews decoration for the L2 Auditorium :)

Here are the men party looking all suave & dapper in their suits!

My gorgeous husband

Hubby & PIL deep in discussion..

Hubby & our darling God-son Zia looking so handsome in his suit!

Our emcees - Joe & Wanhui :)

At this point of time, I was stressed.. "No one is coming to my wedding!!!"
Time check: 1330h - the time supposedly fixed for bride procession..
My MOH, Ena, had to calm me down & remind me that it was raining cats & dogs outside, and our guests are still slowly streaming in..

I was bored inside the cry room so I posed for Edmund. Haha :D

With Aunty Ivy, one half of our pre-marital counsellors :) Been very blessed by them!

Our bouquets. Am glad that Aisyah's flower ball came in handy! :p

My Maid of Honour (MOH), my best friend, my Mooz :) Who specially flew back from New York on 18th December & touched down in SG on my wedding day & came straight to my place, and performed her MOH duties the whole day! *touched*

Peeping bride.. Thank God our guests all arrived!!

It was a last minute decision on the day itself to have my Jiemeis walk down the aisle ahead of me. Am glad that they agreed to do so for me, because I wanted to showcase my beautiful girls who took the effort to go find yellow dresses to match my theme, and thanks to Mom who got the girls a stalk of white rose each..

Mel stood in as my "dad" for my rehearsals, and he said he's happy to do it because this is the only chance for him to walk anyone down the aisle as he has 3 sons.. Well, that is unless the Gans are willing to try for a 4th one :)

Our worship leader Boon Yeow

Uncle Daniel (the other half of our pre-marital counsellors) giving the exhortation

Us laughing at something Uncle Daniel said

Some comic relief before we got to the serious part..

Said the vows & rings put on :)

Everyone's favourite part - You may kiss the bride!

SP saying a prayer for us before we proceed to sign the marriage cert.

Yippee.. We're legally married after signing this! With our witnesses, Mommy & Father, and SP.

The 2 Very Important People on that day, our MOH & Best Man :) Much loves. Xoxoxoxoxo.

Then came Hubby's surprise for me.. He had initially wanted to perform a song for the leaders, and so Linus & Denis went on stage to prepare..

He started out with a thank-you speech to our leaders who have helped & seen us grow in our r/s & walk with God..

He got choked on his emotions while thanking a few people close to us, then he thanked me (!!!!)

He paused..

And he started singing 心肝宝贝.. OMG, with professional accompanying music can!!

Of course I cried la! And I believe there were a handful of wet eyes & sniffing when he sang to me :p Even Pamela teared despite not understanding what the heck Hubby was singing to me. Hahahaha.

That man knows how to make me cry man!

Thank you Darling, for everything.

Presenting to you Mr & Mrs Quek!

♥♥ Our Wedding Day ♥♥ The Banquet ♥♥

Novotel Clarke Quay

We had such a long day, with our day packed with the tea ceremony & church wedding back to back. There was so much adrenaline pumping in me that I didn't feel the fatigue until we got to the hotel & I had a shower. Poor (tired) Hubby went down to the banquet hall for a quick briefing with the banquet personnel, I stole forty winks on the bed while my girls were outside yakking away. I had to go for another round of make up for our banquet tonight in less than 30 mins..

My other MUA, Jessie, whom I personally felt did a better job than the one assigned to me in the morning. I'd asked for a low messy bun hairdo so that I can give it a different look for my 2nd march in, simply by adding roses to my hair :)

*points at Edmund* "YOU don't laugh at my luo-han fish/curry pok hair style okay!"

Mooz & I spending some time while I get my hair & make up done

I think I'm going to miss my gown :(

Some of my lovely sisters - Hitomi (engaged), Stacia (getting married next in May!), Wendy (married & mother of 3!), Aisyah (engaged & getting married this October!), Pamela (attached), Ena (hot, single & lovin' it!)

My wedding shoes.. Guessed how much I paid for it? $79? $139?? Nope you are wrong! This pair of shoes only caused me $15.90!! I bought the crystals ($30+) to bling it up.. Quite satisfied with my own wedding project! *grins*

I really like this photo, kinda reminds me of a page out of a magazine, especially with my girls "pretending" to help me dress up!

As usual with wedding dinners, they don't start until about 8pm++, therefore I still had time to camwhore.. Wahahaha.

My rings :)

See you at the dinner later.. Bye for now!

Hubby just had to surprise me another time by changing our banquet 1st march-song! I had wanted Ave Maria (the traditional wedding song, not the 200-pound Beauty one!) and he swapped it with the 心肝宝贝 recording he did! Gosh!

Our 8 course banquet menu with a surprise sweet surprise at the end!

Before we even warmed the seats, it was time to go up to our room for our 2nd outfit change.. and change into my red gown which I had changed at the last minute, like 2 weeks before our wedding!

I had chosen this gown over the lime green & black one as I thought it looked more flattering and I love bustier gowns!!

Sharing a quick laugh before stepping into the hall again :)

Very tickled as we watched the express highlights of the morning events :D

Giving my thank-you speech..

We avoided getting sabo-ed to drink as our wedding coordinator, Melvin Gan & other brothers, urged us to move around to other tables quickly after table-to-table photography & to avoid certain tables (like our cell where Sally was because she is sure to make us drink!). And before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye to our guests..

O why didn't we think that Sally would bring the sabotage to us instead? Hahahaha.

Gosh, see that sinister look on her face? Wahahaha.. and the glass of poison, which according to Audrey, was concocted with "red wine, beer, chinese tea, green chilli, red chilli padi, pepper, soy sauce, vinegar and magnum that gave the creamy texture i cant rem who was the person who dipped the magnum icecream in and out of it like a tea bag". *gasp!*

It tasted bad... LIKE REAALLLLLLLY BADDDDDDDDDDD!!! Check out our mothers' expressions too! Wahahaha.

Had to do this to do the bouquet toss or else it'll hit the low ceiling

And Hubby's aunt got it.. actually they pushed it to her! Hahaha :p

Kudos to these guys who captured the beautiful moments of our wedding!!
