The Church: San Antonio de Padua

The Church: San Antonio de Padua

Pooc, Silang, Cavite

It was love at first sight. I have not been to this Church yet, which seems paradoxical since I live in Silang. I actually have heard about it from my friend Faye who's from Quezon City. She excitedly described how nice this Church is and I couldn't accept that she's been there before I have. What she was referring to could be some other church in Tagaytay, which will appeal to people from Manila more, but she told me it was the one before Tagaytay. Having seen the pictures, she confirmed that it was the red-brick church she's been to. It's nice and they didnt have a hard time looking for it. That gave me the assurance that friends would not have a hard time going there too.

So this is it. Our quaint red-brick church - just big enough to accommodate our relatives and friends, let me have a decent walk down the aisle and just right to let us have an intimate and solemn wedding ceremony - one Angel and I pray for.

We loved it when we first saw it. We hope you will too. Check out the gallery for more pics of our Church.

Our Priest: Fr. Armand Tangi

Our Priest: Fr. Armand Tangi

You probably have seen the famous painting of the Laughing Christ? This is probably among the most revolutionary portrayal of Jesus' image and to us, the most effective in making everyone know and feel Christ present in today's world. Who wouldn't want to pray and ask help from a saviour that happy? Yes, it is Fr. Armand Tangi who thought about the concept and painted the image. This is one of his many depictings of Christ - texting, playing basketball, with a laptop, among others. The various representations make us feel Christ here and closer to us.

Debbie grew up aware of how awesome Fr. Armand is. Having seen his artwork, specially the Christ in Gethsemane painting he has given her great grandmother, she has always been in awe of Fr. Armand's superb art skills. As a kid, she would see him in family gatherings - officiating the mass for family occasions, including weddings. Now it is her turn, and it is such an honour for the couple that the distinguished priest said yes to officiate their wedding ceremony.

He did the painting in the church we'll be getting married in. Isn't that uber cool too? And if you let us shamelessly name-drop, he officiated the wedding mass of Aga- Charlene, Dawn- Anton, among others. Our celebrity priest makes us feel like celebrities too! :)

Check out the website to know more about Fr. Armand, his brilliant thoughts and works.

Reception: Tagaytay International Convention Center (TICC)

Magallanes Drive

Tagaytay City

Motif

The motif will be midnight blue and accent will be silver. The bride loves black, but since this goes against tradition and auspicious beliefs, the compromise is something close to it. Midnight blue is pretty much the same as the theme of this website, only a little darker. The silver accent is just perfect giving that effect of twinkling stars in that dark blue midnight sky.

Attire: STRICTLY FORMAL

Attire: STRICTLY FORMAL

Guys are requested to come in the traditional Barong Tagalog, and girls in formal dress. To dress up is that little effort the couple requests from guests and they will appreciate it a lot if you would look your best in their wedding. Don't you guys find weddings a great excuse to buy something nice, apart from what we have to wear in the office? :)

On a more serious note.. We will only be left with pictures and videos when the wedding is over. We'd be more than happy to see you looking fabulous in them. One will only know the painstaking effort of preparing for a wedding when it is time to do yours. We're pretty sure you'd love for us to dress up as well. So there. Please come in the required garb. :)
