Love at first sight - Christmas 2007
Initial attraction? Without question there was - for the both of them. Debbie figured it's ok to admit that now, since they're getting married anyways. :)
The yearly cousins' Christmas party was held in Debbie's house that year. She heard someone so awesomely singing Sweet Child of Mine by GNR. "Who could pull that off?" she wondered. And there, she saw this Angel.
Angel saw Debbie. He confesses that when he did he thought - well, she's pretty. How could his friend PJ (Debbie's brother) hide her from him?
They got to talk - about a hobby Angel has, and Debbie is interested in - SLRs. Angel was talking her into getting one of her own, even buying his d40x so he can upgrade. And that was it. Initial sparks - check.
Bumping into each Other
They are distant relatives. They have the same cousins and set of friends. It is inevitable to bump into each other, and they did. In Romano's graduation party, they got to talk a little and goof around. They had more pictures of each other taken this time.
Summer of 08: Pagudpud
Angel arranged a trip to Pagudpud. Debbie helped him arrange it. They both love the beach and taking pictures. They were often caught taking pictures of each other. Cousins who were with them thought there could be something. And everyone started teasing them.
Coron and swimming the Barracuda Lake
The next trip was to Coron, Palawan. Angel's close friend Kicker and Debbie's cousin was there with them. Everyone continued to suspect that there really is something going on. They continued teasing and thinking what if..and well, they could be.. Debbie had no idea that Angel confessed to Kicker. And Carlo just recently confessed, that he knew about it too. But nobody knew that Debbie confessed to close friend Sherryl Lou as well.
They enjoyed the sights, the water and swimming. They swam the Barracuda lake - and that requires some power swimming. They were left alone but Angel never said anything to Debbie. When they got home - he finally did. And the rest was history. But, do read about it below.
Davao
And summer didn't end there. Angel went with Debbie to Davao with her friends. Now they are officially a couple. They'd like to apologize to Debbie's friends if they were overly and repulsively cheesy.
The Proposal
After 6 mos of being together, Angel made Debbie the happiest girl in the world. She didn't get to sleep for days- that's how ecstatic she was. The story and pictures are in the Photo Gallery.
