Getting Around and Parking
Everything for the wedding weekend is located in downtown Omaha. The airport is very close as well. Therefore it is not an absolute necessity to rent a car for the weekend. We will have a line of taxis ready during the main departure times for each event. They will leave from the hotels and then later the event venues.
Airport - Hotel
To call for the hotel shuttle:
- Near baggage claim at the airport there are phones to call directly for all hotel shuttles. Follow the instructions to call your hotel and request to have a shuttle sent for you. If the 2 digit code doesn't work, the backup option is look at the ad above for your hotel and the phone number is listed there. Make sure to dial Holiday Inn EXPRESS and not the other HI. The hotels are only 2-5 minutes away so you should not be waiting too long.
Car rental:
- The car rental desks are all inside the airport on the 1st floor just past the baggage claim.
Driving directions to Embassy Suites:
- From Eppley Airfield: Exit Airport, turning left on Abbott Drive. Continue Abbott Drive approximately 2 miles to 10th Street and turn left. Follow 10th Street for 6 blocks to the hotel which is located on the left (east) side of the street at 10th and Howard.
Driving directions to Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites:
- Exit Airport and turn left (south) on Abbott Drive. Continue 1 mile and turn right on Avenue H. Go 1 block and turn right on Abbott Plaza. Hotels are on the left and straight ahead.
Hotel - Wedding Events
Embassy Suites guests:
- The garba and wedding ceremony are both just 1/2 mile from the Embassy Suites. If the weather cooperates, one could walk albeit all dressed up.
- The taxi fare from ES to these events is estimated around $5 one way.
- The reception is the furthest away. It is just over 1 mile from ES and therefore you can't walk.
- The estimated taxi fare to Joslyn Art Museum is around $6-7 one way.
- Driving directions to garba: Head north on S 10th St toward Howard St for 0.2 mi. Turn left at Farnam St/Farnam on the Mall. Continue to follow Farnam St for 0.3mi.
- Driving directions to wedding ceremony: Head north on S 10th St toward Howard St for 0.3 mi. Turn left at Dodge St and the surface parking lot is on 12th Street.
- Driving directions to reception: Head north on S 10th St toward Howard St for 0.3 mi. Turn left at Dodge St and proceed 0.9 mi to either Joslyn's main drive to the right (after Central High School) or turn right on 24th street and another right to the Parking Garden.

Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites guests:
- These hotels are a bit further since they are near the airport so therefore walking is not an option.
- The taxi fare for the garba and ceremony is estimated at around $8-9 one way.
- For the reception, it is around $10-12 one way.
- Driving directions to garba: Turn right at Abbott Drive and continue on Cuming St. Turn left at 14th St until you reach Farnam St.
- Driving directions to wedding ceremony: Turn right at Abbott Drive and continue until 10th St, turn left. Continue here until Dodge St where you an turn right. Proceed to the surface parking lot on 12th Street or street parking around.
- Driving directions to reception: Turn right at Abbott Dr. Continue on Cuming St for 0.6 mi. Turn left at N 20th St. Then turn left at Dodge St and proceed to either Joslyn's main drive to the right (after Central High School) or turn right on 24th street and another right to the Parking Garden.
Parking
Embassy Suites:
- Parking is a per day charge of $8.00 to self park.
Holiday Inn Express and Candlewood Suites:
- Parking is free in the outdoor lot.
Garba Raas:
- Parking for the garba would be in the street (easy to find and free meters) as well as the parking lot 1/2 block away.
Wedding ceremony:
- Parking for the wedding is readily available on the street within one block of the center as well as a parking lot across the street.
Reception:
- Parking is free at the museum's lot.
