For those of you who know either one of us, the pace of our story is not at all suprising...
Gaurav's 33rd birthday celebration in October 2005 was at Fulton Lounge. Anjali showed up that night with 2 of her friends, who thought they were coming to just "another Indian birthday party". Gaurav actually talked to Anjali and her friends which we didn't find out until later was a big deal for Gaurav. Anjali and her 2 friends actually bought Gaurav a birthday drink which also was a big deal for Anjali. That was really it for 2005.
September of 2006, it had been suggested to Gaurav by a few friends that he actually call this girl named Anjali. Of course, these suggestions took place earlier in 2006 though he finally emailed in September. They talked after playing "phonetag" for 2 weeks and decided to go out to dinner at Red Light. Afterwards they went to Fulton Lounge however not really in acknowledgement of their first meeting. Gaurav just liked the place.
November of 2006, need there be more said?
August of 2008, Gaurav and Anjali had planned a long weekend getaway to Montreal. Well much to Anjali's amazement, he had arranged for an entire weekend full of activities. Thinking ahead to pick up his dry cleaning used to be about as much as he planned in advance - so hence Anjali's surprise. Throughout the weekend a new activity kept coming up - a romantic dinner boat cruise, massages. One of the evenings, they went to a fabulous restaurant where he was welcomed graciously "Bonjour Mr. Doshi, right this way". After a fantastic dinner they went to the waterfront to watch fireworks. Upon returning to the room at the end of the evening, she found flowers everywhere. Anjali was so shocked by the gesture, she was running around taking pictures. She never had a thought that he might actually propose until he pulled out a ring!
