Company Background

Started in 2001 by 4 tech savvy guys, the company began in a 200 square foot attic on Bainbridge Island. In fact it was the attic of the same house where author David Guterson wrote his best selling novel Snow Falling on Cedars.

Within 6 years, the site now receives over one million unique visits per month and over 13 million page views and serves 54 local markets across the country. The company's strategy was simple: to build the site one advertiser at a time. Currently they advertise over 40,000 local businesses across all 54 guides.

With The Knot as one of their biggest competitors, the company has decided to target "real people" and "real weddings." Instead of focusing on "fairy tale weddings" mywedding.com appeals to the average American couple who would like to create a beautiful wedding within reasonable means.
