Best Outdoor Venues in St. Louis

One thing is true about St. Louis: this city is green. Between the dozens of parks and the shade trees covering much of the city’s residential areas, St. Louis’s plant-colored vibe is lush. Which, we think, makes this urban dwelling place an ideal home to outdoor ceremony and reception venues. And because we are always here to help with all things wedding, we’re sharing a favorite or two. Or three.

St. Louis Artists’ Guild

Although the Artists’ Guild is actually a stone mansion with indoor reception capacity, we’ve picked this location for its outdoor terrace. Overlooking the rolling hills and ancient trees of Oak Knoll Park, the terrace can be tented for a sheltered but still open air feel. Recommended for brides seeking a garden-party style reception with just a touch of vintage appeal.

The Gardens of Malmaison

Another historic venue with indoor and outdoor options, what we really like about The Gardens at Malmaison is the look of a ceremony in the gardens themselves. The venue was originally built in 1843 as a barn, and remodeled in the early 1900’s into an inn. 60 years later it was remodeled once more and became the event venue and garden estate it is today.

Chandler Hill Vineyards

Located 30 minutes from St. Louis, the Chandler Hill Vineyards are a local venue with a unique backdrop – the property’s vine-covered hills.  Ceremonies and receptions can be held lakeside near the vineyards or on the outdoor deck overlooking a similar view. Summer or snowy winter, this venue is intimate, organic and perfect for rustic country affairs and elegant celebrations alike.
