Crissy and Adam’s Pretty Indianapolis, IN Wedding by Megan Wynn Photography

This estate wedding is absolutely fantastic! This is the first wedding I have seen at the Lucas Oil Estate and it is a stunner. Crissy and Adam were able to have the outdoor wedding of their dreams on the extensive (and very manicured) grounds. Thank you to Denver-based Megan W Photography for sharing. And read Crissy’s advice below on how to keep a wedding celebration going all weekend long!

I’d love to hear about your vision

My vision was simple classic elegance – white & gold, and some black. The space is so beautiful on its own it didn’t need much adornment. I did design the seating assignment board and a special thank you to our guests that matched the type faces of our wedding invitation suite.

Did your wedding location hold a specific significance to you?

I loved the fact that it was unique and that none of our guests had ever attended a wedding there before – there are only so many outdoor venues in Indy. But the whole day was outside – ceremony & reception. We both knew we wanted everything outdoors.

Tell us details of the events surrounding the wedding as well.

I don’t have many. Just the usual. Family and friends flying in from all over the country. We had our rehearsal at the Lucas Estate and then had our rehearsal dinner at Napolese – It was a great night – most of us went out for drinks afterward – it was very casual and relaxed and so nice to be surrounded by the love of friends and family for the WHOLE weekend. After the ceremony and reception Adam & I rented a limo and took it first to see some of our guests in the lobby bar of the Renaissance, where most of them stayed and then we headed to Detour in Carmel for a little after party and send off to our final destination of the evening the JW Marriott. The next day we spent with our friends – one of my best bridesmaid’s and her husband – at the Colts game. — We took our honeymoon a week after – we went to St. Lucia and stayed at this amazing place called the Jalousie Plantation – we will definitely be making a trip back there – it was paradise!

How did you know your partner was “the one”?

I always thought the saying “when you know, you know” was so silly — until I knew! From the moment we met you couldn’t tear us apart. I just can’t picture my life without him. He is my best friend and he loves me for exactly who I am. He brings out the best in me, makes me laugh hysterically, and he matters to me more than anyone or anything.

Any advice you’d give new brides who are just getting started?

Take the time to enjoy the process. Don’t get caught up in all the little things – at the end of the day, you’ll be married to the man you love the most, and that’s all that really matters. Don’t skimp on photography! Those are the memories you’ll have forever, you want them to be amazing and professional – pick a photographer who excels at the style you like – we chose a photographer with a more photojournalist approach. Take a few minutes in the middle of the evening to sneak away with your husband, maybe even get the photographers to come with!
