Destination Wedding: Costa Rica

Who doesn’t love soaking up some serious rays and sipping a tropical drink with one of those cool little umbrellas? Now, throw in a wedding ceremony and your day is perfect! A destination wedding in Costa Rica can combine all of these tropical perks so you can bask in the glow of your newfound state of matrimony and the sunset.

With nearly two-thirds of Costa Rica being coastline, it is almost inevitable that your wedding will take place on or near a beach. So let’s look at some beaches and beach resorts that cater to providing a great start to the rest of your lives.

Beautiful Beach Ceremonies

Corcovado: Considered one of the most picturesque beaches on the Osa Peninsula, Corcovado has more than just dark sand beaches; it also boasts a lush mountainous jungle. So whether you want to make your solemn vows on a sun-washed beach or near the trees with a monkey or two hanging around, Corcovada is definitely a frontrunner when it comes to beach wedding options in Costa Rica.

Tambor: One of the more well-known beaches, Tambor is often frequented by tourists, but is also a great place to have a beach wedding. Located northeast of Montezuma, the sands are kept immaculately clean and the chatter of monkeys can be deafening! Just create an aisle outlined with exotic flowers and a few close friends and family and your wedding will be complete.

Montezuma: The beaches of Montezuma are very well known which makes having a wedding here ideal. If you’re a laid-back kind of couple and don’t mind having a few onlookers at your ceremony, Montezuma is the place for you.

Beach Resort Weddings

The Marriott Los Sueos Resort – Playa Herradura: The only word that can sum up this beach resort is “Wow!”  With so many wonderful amenities such as both indoor and outdoor event spaces, beachfront ceremony options, and exceptional food for your reception guests, the Marriott is a luxurious option when planning your destination wedding in Costa Rica.

The Paradisus Playa Conchal Resort: Located a mere 45 minutes from the Guanacaste International Airport, you can fly in and enjoy this little piece of paradise while preparing for your big day in luxury. With marble floors and beautiful woodwork in the interior as well as exceptional white sand beaches just steps from the door, you can decide to have an indoor or outdoor ceremony or reception and take advantage of the beauty of both. You really can’t go wrong!

Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica – Peninsula Papagayo, Costa Rica: As one of the highest rated resorts in Costa Rica for hosting weddings, the staff here are considered experts in every aspect of the ceremony and reception planning process. If you want to leave your resort wedding dreams to the pros, this is the location to pick.
