From rugged mountains and quiet lagoons to raging waterfalls and bubbling springs, a destination wedding in Dominica means a place that seems untouched by time and unmarred by the fast pace of everyday life. Floating in the Eastern Caribbean Sea, Dominica is one of those rare islands that exudes ageless beauty while remaining a contender for destination weddings worldwide without marketing, fancy hotels, or over-crowded nightclubs.
Whether you whisper vows in the jungle, exchange promises beneath a rainbow crested waterfall, or tiptoe through black sand on any one of their private beaches, couples who wed in Dominica will never forget “The Nature Island.”
Popular Destination Wedding Ideas in Dominica
Jungle Bay Spa and Resort: With only six hotels to choose from on the island (there are condos and houses for rent as well), couples who envision a traditional hotel wedding may wonder if Dominica can really pull it off. The truth is that Jungle Bay Spa and Resort is one of those amazing blends of eco-friendly and elegance that few island hotels can achieve. With cabins that overlook the water and a hotel package that includes everything from marriage license coordination to spa credits and wedding photos, you may be surprised how easy it is to have a traditional wedding on an island known for privacy.
Riverside or Waterfall Ceremonies: If you came to Dominica in hopes to avoid the hotel wedding experience and focus on a natural outdoor affair, then you have come to the right place. Breathtaking backdrops are abundant here. Whether you want to hire a wedding planner to coordinate a spot and handle all of the details or you wish to scout out a spot on your own and stitch your dream day together, couples can choose from getting married in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park or any of the waterfalls along the Middleham Falls trail. Or if you really want to be adventurous, you can choose a spot off the beaten path that only you know of.
