Destination Wedding: St. Vincent and the Grenadines

From jet-black sand on St. Vincent to ivory beaches in the Grenadines, a destination wedding in St. Vincent and the Grenadines is as varied as the beaches themselves. The allure of these islands has nothing to do with the bustling atmosphere on most island getaways. While you can always find sailing, snorkeling, and scuba diving if you want, these luscious dots of palm-fringed paradise are all about unplugging and unwinding.

Top Destination Wedding Spots in SVG

Private Beach, Petit St. Vincent: The name of this beach gives no qualms about its intention. This island is 113-acres of private beach, perfect for a hush-hush ceremony with only your closest friends. The Petit St. Vincent Resort is ideal for lavish island weddings as they have 22 private cottages for accommodations. And while there are TVs and telephones, room service is delivered via a yellow flag outside of the hut. Tres privacy!

The Old Fort at Bequia: Three centuries old and tangled in thirty-acres of overflowing tropical gardens, this palatial plantation overlooks the southern Grenadines. Whether you want a hilltop sunset ceremony or want to use the castle-like mansion itself (which has six guestrooms on site), this spot is one of the most breathtaking and original places in all of the Caribbean to wed.

St. Vincent Botanical Gardens: The main island of St. Vincent is by far the most developed, but even so, it is still so much more quaint than many other tourist hot spots along the chain. Not only does it have the oldest botanical gardens in the Western Hemisphere, but you can get married on the spacious lawn among some of the prettiest flora in all the world.

Mopion: This island doesn’t have people on it. It doesn’t even have cottages or a single resort. Aside from thatched umbrellas and dozens of arch-backed palm trees, this island is one of the most private you can find in all of the Grenadines. If you want turquoise waters and empty beaches, make the special boat trip out to this secluded islet to promise forever to each other.
