Dallas is home to a veritable army of food trucks, and dessert trucks are quickly carving out a niche for themselves with a variety of sweet things to share. Check out Gypsy Scoops, for example. A mobile ice cream parlor serving premium hand-scooped ice cream with an upscale twist on those fond memories you have of chasing the ice cream truck as a child. Or Trailercakes, for cupcakes and cake balls from an Airstream named Bubbles. “Happiness is in the frosting,” according to the owners, whose aim is bliss-by-cupcake. The first flavor on our list is “Hitched” a white on white cupcake that promises not to stain your wedding dress. Then there’s The Bomb Fried Pies, specializing in, you guessed it, fruit-filled fried pies (the menu is simple and designed to satisfy: apple, cherry, peach or apricot).Last but not least on our dream team, Ruthie’s Rolling Creperie. Classic ingredients , inventive combinations, and, of course, a French connection. In other words, elegance with a spoonful of Nutella and a dollop of whipped cream.
