For the Grooms: Whiskey Cocktails

Want cocktails at your bachelor party, but prefer to avoid anything pink and fizzy? Here are a few recommendations that celebrate the greatest of gentlemen’s drinks: whiskey.

Old Fashioned:
2oz. Bourbon whiskey (Maker’s Mark is terrific cocktail bourbon)
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1tsp. sugar
Splash of water
1 maraschino cherry
1 orange wedge

Mix sugar, water, and bitters in an old-fashioned glass. Add the cherry and orange and muddle together. Pour bourbon, and then add ice. Stir.

Manhattan:
1 1/2 oz. Bourbon whiskey
1/4 oz. sweet vermouth
Dash of Angostura bitters
1 maraschino cherry (for garnish)

Add ingredients to ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a martini glass. Add cherry.

Whiskey Sour:
2 oz. whiskey (any blended whiskey, such as Jameson)
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. powdered sugar (you could also use a splash of simple syrup)
1 cherry and lemon slice (for garnish)

Add ingredients to an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well and strain into a chilled sour glass. Garnish with cherry and lemon.
