Honeymoon Destination: Marbella, Spain

The “I do’s” have been said and the toasts have been given.  It is now time to sit back and relax on your honeymoon.  Marbella, Spain is your chosen destination and for good reason; it has sandy beaches, hot nightclubs, fabulous shopping, and great food to boot.  Get ready to make some unforgettable memories.

Located in a section of Costa del Sol, Marbella abounds with crystal waters and amazing opportunities to not only view beautiful scenery, but beautiful celebrities as well.  Get your camera ready; you may just spot your favorite actor or actress sipping sangria.

Miles of Beaches

Marbella is famous for its beaches and whether you’re looking to sunbathe with your honey or take a dip in the deep blue, there is a beach perfect for the new Mr. and Mrs.  In town, there are several dark sanded beaches that boast showers, cafes, and kayak rentals.  Beaches like Puerto Banus, Puente Romano, La Fantanilla, and Playa Faro are all busy beaches with lots of accommodations to keep your day full of fun and sun.

For less crowds and more romance, try the white sand beaches just out of town.  Playa de los Monteros, Playa del Alicate, and La Vivora are three of the most beautiful white sand beaches in Spain and they all offer great amenities such as beach bars and parasols.  For a little more adventure and a few less clothes, Cabopino is a seductive option where beach-goers enjoy the sights au naturel.

A Mile of Day and Nighttime Fun

Once you tire of the beaches (like that would ever happen!), visit the Golden Mile.  This amazing stretch of Marbella is packed full of nightclubs, five-star restaurants, and haute-couture boutiques.  And because the rich and famous often vacation in the area, there is a high likelihood of you rubbing elbows with a king, a queen, or even a prince.

Let the Fine Dining Begin!

As if the amazing beaches and fantastic shopping weren’t enough, there are amazing restaurants in this seaside paradise.  There are several choices of restaurants that range from small bistros and cafes to elaborate evening meals with wonderful wine selections.

For exceptional Mediterranean food, Tempora should be your number one stop.  Although small in size, it boasts yummy food that you and your lover can hand feed each other.  With generous quantities and moderate prices, you’re both sure to leave completely satiated.

For a French bistro experience, Rendez Vous has received high acclaim.  Serving breakfast, brunch, and lunch, this café has moderate prices, friendly service, and an excellent dessert menu.  While not open for dinner, it is the perfect spot to gaze into each other’s eyes in the afternoon sun.

Best Times to Honeymoon in Marbella

Because it can get sweltering in Spain, you want to plan your dream honeymoon accordingly.  May through June and September through October are the best times to visit as there are fewer crowds and the weather is temperate, with temperatures ranging from 70 to 80 degrees.
