We Love: Literary Wedding Details

September has a wonderful tendency to feel cozy, crisp, and just like back-to-school, even for those of us (ahem, speaking personally here) who are long removed from the world of freshly sharpened pencils and locker-filled hallways. But in honor of those hardback book days (and, admittedly, the literature classes I managed to pack into my own schedule), we’ve pulled together a few example of something we truly love to see in wedding décor: literary details.

Let’s start with something seriously decadent. This white wedding cake – ok, and the gorgeous stand, too, but that’s not what we’re here for!  – is carefully scripted with the couple’s favorite quotations.

The typography, simple design, and creative subject of these author-inspired invitations are simple and elegant.

Can we just talk about this place setting for a few minutes? First of all, the tablecloth. And the silverware! I’m utterly hooked on the delicate china plates, too, but the item I simply cannot get over is the handwritten words on the charger. A little bit of Pride and Prejudice with your reception dinner? Yes, please!

This book page flower bouquet takes DIY to a whole new level of lovely.

Last, but certainly not least. If my love affair with books isn’t evident yet, I’m sure I’m about to give myself away completely. Because I could certainly fall in love with a cocktail hour complete with white wine, some of my favorite people, and table décor that includes stacks of classic novels with “read me” signs on them.
