We Love: Wool

Wool seems like an unlikely fabric to showcase at a wedding, usually filled with chiffon and lace. But for fall and winter, wool can add amazing texture and unique interest to your special event. Ranging from rustic Pendelton wool (like in the sachets above) to refined British countryside, wool is the moodiest of fabrics.

Menswear traditionally comes in wool blends, so finding the perfect gray wool suit shouldn’t be difficult. And a ring bearer in a tweedy vest and newsboy cap? A most definite yes!

Especially for autumn weddings, I love the concept of vintage-inspired wool dresses for bridesmaids. Mix and match styles and prints in coordinating colors. This look will have every bridesmaid feeling like a Hitchcock heroine.

Not every bride will want to go this hardcore wool, but this is a seriously fantastic skirt, right?

Use bits of wool fabric in your wedding colors to decorate tables, line your flower girl’s basket, or even as simple placemats.

This wedding used a charming houndstooth pattern to wrap around the bouquet (above) and use as fabric flowers (below).
