Wedding Venues in Madison

Madison is a large city that caters to many tastes. From football fanaticism to a lively arts and culture scene, the Wisconsin capitol nearly has something for everyone, and fortunately for recently engaged couples, that includes wedding planning types, too. So, in an effort to meet both you and Madison in the middle of your wedding venue search – and share some of the variety that this Midwestern city holds dear – we have three unique wedding venues here to help you get your endeavors off on the right foot.

Countryside Venue

We’ll always have a soft spot for barn weddings, and between all the rustic options in and around Madison (the O’Brien Barn and Century Barn are also on our list), we think that Sugarland just might take the cake. Located near the Wisconsin River and just 25 minutes from Madison, the 19th century estate has a tree-lined drive and lush meadows and gardens, all of which happen to make for scenery fit for a photo op. The property’s colonial farmhouse is beautiful and filled with antiques, but what we love most about this Madison wedding venue is the reception site – a rustic barn built in the 1800s.

Urban Setting

Right downtown in the midst of Madison’s vibrant cultural setting is the Overture Center for the Arts. A performing arts center and art gallery, the building was constructed in 2004 as a replacement for the city’s former Civic Center and has been hosting live theater, exhibitions, and beautiful weddings ever since. An elegant, urban-inspired wedding location in Madison, the venue is a perfect environment for glam celebrations, and popular spaces for receptions include the Overture Main Hall Lobby and Promenade Hall & Terrace.

Garden Party

Indoor, outdoor, or winter wedding, the Olbrich Botanical Gardens is a Madison wedding venue with ceremony and reception sites for you. The Event Garden, which hosts all outdoor weddings, is elaborately landscaped and filled with seasonal annuals and dark wood pergola, while their atrium is an open, glass-walled room perfect for indoor weddings – and bad-weather backup plans. If you’re dreaming of a garden-inspired wedding, this place makes planning easy as pie.

P.S. Don’t forget to use the best planning tools around – our wedding websites are perfect for communicating with your guests and sharing the details of your wedding day and registry.
