Where to Buy Your Wedding Sweets and Treats in Minneapolis

From three-tiered wedding cakes to cupcakes and pies, the dessert table at your wedding is another way for you to share the details you adore with the people you care about. And, increasingly, the dessert table is all about options. Which is wonderful, because Minneapolis has options aplenty.

If tradition is what you seek, head to the Queen of Cakes. This bakery and cake “design studio” is all about creating a highly personalized cake for you and starts all client relationships with a  45-minute consultation.  Cakes and flavors will be tasted, textures and colors discussed, and you and your fiancé will walk away confident, happy, and possibly on a sugar high. For pies, our hearts lie with Turtle Bread Company. From year-round regulars to seasonal confections, the flavors on this company’s menu are seriously classic, with a little bit of blueberry-rhubarb on the side.

Now for the cupcakes. A wedding trend that’s here to stay, cupcakes are wonderful for couples who like options. Heather Lynn Cupcakes is a Minneapolis favorite, and the bakery sources fresh, local ingredients to make its confections. We’re torn between the white chocolate raspberry and the peanut butter cup. Meanwhile, Bittersweet Bakery takes the cupcake, cake and cookie theme and makes it allergy-friendly and entirely gluten free. We hear the lemon bars are wonderful.

We’ve covered the basics, but if your wedding day requires something truly extraordinary, look no further than Cocoa & Fig. Cakes and cupcakes tailored perfectly to your day. Cake lollipops and flavored French macarons in different colors, and an entire section of the bakery dedicated to mini desserts. We may have died and gone to Lilliputian heaven.
