When we decided to have the wedding in Boracay, it was under the presumption that people have been there. Well, guess what? We just discovered that about half of those on our guest list have either NEVER set foot on those powdery white sands or have not been there in over a decade (It has changed a lot)! So we put together this basic checklist for the "newcomers." 8P
TRIVIA: Rhoel and I have been to Boracay thrice each in the past but always on separate occasions. The wedding is our first trip to the island together. Excited to beach-bum with you guys!
You get to ride these sailboats only in the Habagat season (which begins in June) because of the wind. It gives you a great view of Boracay from across the shore. Sunset sails are the best. Weather-permitting, we will treat all (willing) guests to a paraw sail on June 18 as a pre-wedding activity (so pray for fine weather everyone). Could be the best souvenir we can give them from Boracay.
Boracay is just one island. If you want to explore its surroundings, hop on a boat and for about P1,500, you'll get to see Puka Beach (where Shangri-La Resort is located), Crystal Cove, Laurel Island, etc.
Named "Best Spa Destination in Asia" and so many other bests. If you have the budget for it, go, go go! Their Hilot Trilogy is renowned, but if you don't have the budget for Mandala, the massages offered by locals who hang out at resorts is a good deal for P300.
A few don't think they're anything special but most Boracay regulars are Jonah's regulars as well. No harm in trying some real-fruit fruit shakes. 8P
Some bars, like Hey Jude and Cocomangas, have fire dancers on special nights. Ask around the beachfront bars if there's a show. It's usually free.
You can do this in Bulabog beach across the famous White Beach. For rich, brave souls only. LOL.
Vendors hang around offering this and other activities, but it would be better to ask your resort if they offer this or can recommend someone who does. Last we checked, parasailing cost P1500 for 30 minutes during low season.
