I get by with (not just) a little help...

... from everyone. Yes I get by with not just a little help and not just from my friends but from my, uh, entire clan? You see, there are people like me who are just not gifted in the area of arts and crafts (I got by Home Ec in grade school and high school by forging ex-deals: a hand-sewn skirt for an ode composition, etc. LOL). But I do have skilled friends and family who would do most anything for love and a free Frappuccino.

In fact, I am sitting here, looking at the pile of neatly folded (secret) giveaways on the table and I am just amazed by how much help I've had from my people throughout the weddings preps. Special mention:

1) My sister ABBIE, who is a lot more handy with the laptop. She is the sole executioner of my ideas for the favor tags, place cards, table names, etc. She also heads the unofficial favor-packing committee, which includes Bengget and Denise. LOL. Really, I don't know what my wedding paperie would look like without her intervention. I mean, I tried: I actually made table names, but I asked her to tweak the design template a little the following day and voila, she made cards that looked so much better than what took me til almost midnight to finish, and now I wonder why I wasted board paper in the first place. 8P Abbie is also a frequent companion/critic/driver on wedding-related errands. Truly a maid. Of honor, I mean. LOL. Love yah sister!

2) My TITA MELINDA, who can seriously sew. She has this habit of gifting newlyweds in the family with cross-stitched patterns so when she asked if I wanted one, I told her, quite frankly, that, if it's okay, instead of the cross-stitch gift, she could just help me out with my table decor requirements because I really needed a hand. So there, I got 99 white place mats and nice little ribbons for our centerpiece baskets. They're not perfect but I myself could not have done half as well.

3) My friend/cell groupmate JANELLE, who could really make a living out of hosting. Hehe. Janelle is emceeing-- for free of course -- at the wedding with Rhoel's brother Ryan. Being the vivacious one, Janelle pretty much expected early on in the preps -- somewhere between my announcement that I was engaged and my invitation for coffee -- that she would be asked to host. Well, who am I to fail her expectations? LOL.

4) Rhoel's/our friend KATHY, a part-time wedding singer, waived her fee and volunteered to sing for free at our wedding. We hired her violinist and guitarist for the ceremony and reception, too. While it's impossibly hard to pin down this girl because of her killer hectic day job, we appreciate the fact that someone who has personally witnessed our love story will sing our soundtrack. She feels us.

5) My friends ANGEL (from high school) and REIAN (from college), who will be our on-the-day wedding coordinators. Reian will pay special attention to the suppliers and the ceremony while Angel is in charge of the reception program. Shifting, so they can also enjoy the wedding 8 ) Some people pay for their services, we just treat them to lunch and lots of kwentos.

6) UNCLE FRANCIS and ATE MINNIE, who are making the sign boards for the wedding. I've always liked those rustic wooden boards used in beach weddings but, again, I have no talent or desire to spend too much for it. Well, well, thank you Lord for architect ninongs and ninangs. 8 )

7) My TITA PILAR and cousin VIMI, who are helping us pull off a teeny weeny surprise. 8P Watch out.

8) ATE JEN and ME-ANN, our bubbly and ever reliable help at home. I won't even say what they have to clean up after we're done and what they have to find for us in every nook and cranny of our little home. One thing's for sure: We're well-fed.

Last but not the least, my parents, for the video, oh and yes, again, my sisters ABBIE and ARGEN for the make-up (artista?!! LOL).

Seriously, whatever happens on the big day, rain or shine, we want you guys to know how very, very thankful we are for the support and help we've received. Nothing beats your love.
