I saw these button bouquets and knew they were perfect for me. My grandmother had hundreds of buttons, so I bought a few more, mixed them all together and I'm in the process of making four bouquets. Three will have 30 stems and mine will have 50-60. It's a lot of work. I can't feel my fingers. I'll keep updating as I finish. 55 down, 100 more or so to go!
My future sister-in-law made me go dress shopping against my will. I declared that my dress would be tea length, no train, no beads, no lace, and had to have sleeves. She said that was cute, and that I had to try on whatever I liked and whatever she liked. I played, and fell in love with the very first dress I tried on. After about 12 other dresses, I came back to this one and bought it. As you can tell, my silly little rules for THE dress died.
Update 5.11.09: I bought shoes! I'm having the lilac ribbon on the bodice of my dress changed to black, and wearing these fabulous shoes. My girls are wearing black dresses, so everything will be coordinated and pretty!
There are four girls in the wedding, ages 8-32. Each gets to pick a black dress knee-length or longer, and after that I just don't care. As long as they feel comfortable and beautiful, each dress will be perfect.
I was asked by my local museum to create a bird house to auction off at the end of September, with all benefits to go to Habitat for Humanity and to the museum.
J's parents have always wanted a child to be married in their yard. It's full of small gardens, trees, a coi pond... so pretty and so perfect. We have a tent going over the driveway and the grassy area beyond, another beside the gazebo for drinks, and the cake will be in the gazebo. We will be married in the arbor beside the pond.
