Enchanted

Here it is. In one word, the "theme" of our day is Enchanted. Other words that come to mind are: romantic, classic, elegant, decadent, elaborate, traditional and fairy tale, but Enchanted sums up what I hope you all feel on June 27th. Our (potential) song, So Close, from the movie Enchanted (which I'll download as soon as I convert it from mp4 to mp3) sums it up.
With the stresses and craziness of finishing up my portfolio, I'm still finding plenty of time to work on planning this "enchanted" evening and it's a great break from thinking about headlines and scheduling photo shoots- most of the time.
After finally receiving the quote from the florist we spoke to back in June when my mom was in town, I immediately started researching other florists and scheduled meeting with three in one week. (I could get into the details of the insane quote we got from the first florist, but all I have to say is $40,000 for flowers??!!!!) Last Tuesday I met with two. If you've never been to a floral consultation, basically you spend a couple hours discussing your vision in detail. Well, I have quite a vision so I spent 2 and a half hours with the first florist and three and a half with the second florist! Not that I don't love talking about flowers but by the end of the day and especially by the end of the third meeting on Wednesday, my head was spinning. I'm anxiously awaiting the quotes that should come in tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed someone can create my enchanted look without costing the whole budget.
When in Houston a couple weeks ago, I chose beautiful bridesmaids dresses. I'll keep those details under wraps so my girls have a grand entrance. I'll just say they are a stunning pinkish lavender called Wisteria. I think they are all as excited as I am. Thanks Amanda, Brooke and especially Ashleigh Brewster for trying on everything in the store. Honestly, it was a lot easier choosing my dress.
Next, I'm in the hunt for magical flower girl dresses for my little princesses Emma and Raven.
Thanks go out to my family – y'all know who you are – for such a fun evening in Houston. You know I miss all of you!
