Old Dover Days
FREE ADMISSION TO FESTIVAL AND ALL DOWNTOWN MUSEUMS SATURDAY. PROBABLY CHARGES FOR CARNIVAL RIDES.
FOR THE KIDS: carnival rides, rock-climbing wall, moon bounce, mural painting, games, scavenger hunt, wood pile building (variety of wood blocks for them to make what they want), karate demonstrations.
Get a glimpse of DE history, native American dancing, encampments through from Renaissance, civil war and WWII, historic homes tour (40), arts/crafts fair w/over 130 vendors, food, entertainment, pet parade, maypole dancing, parade and more .
Brecknock Park
(Rt. 13 just south of Dover off of the southbound lane;
First right after Ollies then first right into park)
Picadilly Castle Playscape (wooden for climbing) – get the energy out before the wedding (ha, ha)
Short but nice trail through the woods and wetlands.
Native plant and butterfly garden.
Dover Air Force Base Air Mobility Command Museum
FREE!! Go inside some of the aircraft. All planes shown on website. Flight simulator for children 10 and up. Jr. pilot plane for photo ops for children under 6. Guided tours.
Dover International Speedway
Tours Tues. and Thurs. only. $7 for all ages.
Dover Downs Casino
Admission to casino is free but exit can be costly! Also a number of restaurants (including one featuring excellent buffets) overlooking harness racing track. Weekend entertainment usually very good.
