Apologies/Entschuldigung
There haven't been any changes to this site in the last week or so because we suddenly found ourselves unable to enter it. Our password didn't work anymore and attempts to have a new one sent failed due to some error on the website. Now I happened to try logging in again, and voila, it worked!
We'd like to upload some new pictures soon, but please understand that we are stuck here with dial-up. It takes a while to upload a pic with dial-up... Nonetheless, they shall come!
Anyhow, we went to the registry office on Monday morning, happy that we, as we thought, had everything we needed to register for marriage. But alas, the lady there explained us that we needed Whitney's birth certificate and apostille translated by a certified translator, and that we also needed a certified translator with us for the registration. That, of course, was a little bit annoying to hear, but it won't keep us. The translation is in progress and I hope to be able to get an appointment that is good for both the translator and the lady at the office soon.

Es gab jetzt seit ungefähr einer Woche keine Veränderungen mehr an der Seite, weil wir uns plötzlich nicht mehr einloggen konnten. Unser Passwort funktionierte nicht mehr und es hat auch nicht geklappt, mir einen Link zuschicken zu lassen, um ein neues zu setzen. Gerade habe ich zufällig nochmal versucht mich einzuloggen, und voila, es klappte!
Wir würden sehr gern bald ein paar neue Bilder hochladen, aber bitte versteht, dass wir hier bloß Dial-up-Internet haben. Es braucht schon etwas, ein Bild mit Modemgeschwindigkeit hochzuladen...
Nichtsdestotrotz kommen bald welche, versprochen!
Themawechsel. Am Montag waren wir auf dem Standesamt Wilhelmsdorf, froh dass wir, wie wir dachten, endlich alles beisammen hatten, dass wir zur Anmeldung zur Eheschließung brauchten. Tja - die Dame dort erklärte uns, dass wir Übersetzungen von Whitneys Geburtsurkunde und Apostille von einem zertifizierten Übersetzer brauchten, desgleichen einen Dolmetscher mit uns bei der Anmeldung. Das war natürlich ein bisschen frustrierend zu hören, aber es wird uns nicht lange aufhalten. Die Übersetzung ist schon im Gange und ich hoffe, dass ich in Bälde einen Termin finden kann, der sowohl für den Dolmetscher, als auch für die Dame im Standesamt passend ist.
