Bernhardt, Paul, and I discovered the Charleston Library Society on a lucky walk when Paul was in town. Dr. Emerson took us on a tour of the site and we learned about the donations, the climate controlled safe, and the ghost who haunts it...
I think Bernhardt and I fell in love with it that day...
and later, when we were thinking about special places in Charleston, we reflected on that day and how good we felt. We are both excited to get married amongst books and portraits, on a black and white floor, with the echos of sounds and the essence of King Street around us.
The Charleston Library Society is a hop, skip, and a jump from 39 Rue de Jean, our reception spot.

39 Rue de Jean is one of Bernhardt and my favorite restaurants. Everything is great. Point blank. It is our go-to spot when people are in town.
We are very excited about our menu. It includes a build your own burger station; a sushi station with the house cured duck roll, the salmon and cream cheese roll, and the veggie roll; a pasta station; a mussels station; beer and wine. If you need anything besides beer and wine (as far as drinks go) the restaurant and bar is downstairs and you can easily order downstairs and bring it up to the reception.
We plan on playing mixes from our i-pods. Any wedding mixes you make are welcome!
