Sara and Joel’s Portland, OR Real Wedding by Powers Photography

I love Portland weddings for the same reason I love living in Portland. The vibe is totally urban chic, while still remaining warm and welcoming. Sara and Joel’s wedding is no exception. These high school sweethearts celebrated in high style, with a playful sensibility. Thank you to Powers Studios for sharing this gorgeous event with us!

Any DIY projects?

I am a very crafty person, so from the time we got engaged I spent a lot of my free time planning the details of my DIY projects. Pinterest, of course, was instrumental! I really wanted my wedding to be classic beauty meets modern vintage…but on a serious budget. Since we paid for the wedding ourselves,…

Whitney and Collin’s Beautiful Nashville, TN Garden Wedding by jHenderson Studios

Let’s start the week off with a fun Southern wedding! Whitney and Collin’s wedding is filled with plenty of elegant details to inspire your own wedding planning. Especially the flowers–they are stunning! Thank you to jHenderson Studios for sharing this lovely garden wedding with us, and read below for Whitney’s thoughts on her event!

What was your vision for the day?

As far as my vision for the day, I didn’t really have one specific theme. I just knew I wanted it to be classy…almost old Hollywood with lots of color and beautiful flowers. Also, Collin was very adamant that he and his groomsmen would be wearing kilts. I wasn’t in love with…

A Glamorous Great Gatsby Inspiration Shoot

I know that the new Gatsby came out last weekend, but I wasn’t able to go and see it. So, I am very much looking forward to catching it on Sunday. Here is a stunning Gatsby-inspired shoot at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs. It’s just lovely! All of these details would be great at a 1920s wedding, but you could also just use one or two ideas to incorporate a little glam into your event. Thank you to Rebecca Marie Photography for sharing!

Linh and Jason’s Wedding by Derrick Tribbey Photography

Let’s kick off this week right with a classic wedding from Derrick Tribbey Photography! Linh and Jason’s wedding was a traditional affair held in Linh’s hometown of Houston, TX.

What was your vision for the day?

Red symbolizes love; therefore, I decided to go with a red theme.  Red is just a classic color that I don’t ever think it is ever going to go out of style, even 50 years from now.

Did your wedding location hold a specific significance to you?
Our wedding was held in Houston where I grew up most of my life.  Most of my friends and family live in Houston so it’s natural that I chose it to be my location…

Jessie and Dan’s Favorite Things Wedding by Ever After Visuals

From the groom’s family tartan to the couple’s New Orleans romance, this wedding had to incorporate a lot of things! So, Jessie and Dad got create. Tables weren’t numbered, but rather named for special landmarks in their relationship (such as the restaurant Dan almost proposed at). Hometown pride for Leesburg was shown throughout the wedding, including local coffee handed out as favors. Nods to New Orleans came in the form of jazz music and hurricane cocktails(with their own personalized flags—very cute). Thank you to Ever After Visuals for sharing!

Ross and Leslie’s Fun and Retro Real Wedding by June Lion Photography

The second I saw this wedding, I couldn’t wait to post it. Filled with retro details and a fun attitude, Leslie and Ross’ day is exactly what a backyard wedding ought to be: laid back, refined, and non-stop good times. Thank you to June Lion Photography for sharing this very inspirational (and seriously stylish) day with us!

What was your vision for the day?

The feeling both of us wanted to create for the wedding was one of comfort and elegance. We wanted our guests to feel relaxed and have fun. My vision was a vintage backyard picnic celebration. We collected and thrifted vases and embroidered table linens for months before the wedding,…

Tameka and Gene’s Sophisticated Real Wedding by Abbey Domond Photography

Military couple Tameka and Gene’s wedding is full of lots of glamour and personality! Luckily, their winter wedding in NY wasn’t derailed by Hurricane Sandy. Their venue suffered some outside damage, but the ballroom remained unscathed! Thank you to Abbey Domond for sharing!

Nina and Robert’s Beautiful Stamford, CN Wedding by Jen Lynne Photography

I just love this wedding. It has achieved the near impossible: it is both modern and warm (I’m telling you, ladies, no simple feat). Nina and Robert’s autumn wedding is full of beautiful details (the floral centerpieces are spot-on perfection) and fun with friends (an arcade for guests?!). Thank you so much to Jen Lynne Photography for sharing this super day with us!

Ann and Chad’s Portland, OR Wedding by Powers Photography

This wedding is warm, urban simplicity at its best! Ann and Chad’s autumn wedding in Portland was filled with lovely Northwest details like moss-filled votive holders and frothy mugs of local beer. Thank you so much to Powers Studios for sharing!

Did your wedding location hold a specific significance to you?

We really wanted to find a space that reflected us. Davis Street Tavern was the perfect combination of unique sophistication and warmth (loved that red brick, exposed wood beams, & soft lighting).  We thought going the restaurant route allowed us to have a more relaxed feeling to the event, and the focus could be on mingling and celebrating like a big family party (which is what…

Crissy and Adam’s Pretty Indianapolis, IN Wedding by Megan Wynn Photography

This estate wedding is absolutely fantastic! This is the first wedding I have seen at the Lucas Oil Estate and it is a stunner. Crissy and Adam were able to have the outdoor wedding of their dreams on the extensive (and very manicured) grounds. Thank you to Denver-based Megan W Photography for sharing. And read Crissy’s advice below on how to keep a wedding celebration going all weekend long!

I’d love to hear about your vision…

My vision was simple classic elegance – white & gold, and some black. The space is so beautiful on its own it didn’t need much adornment.  I did design the seating assignment board and a special thank you…

Don't miss...
