Kerri and Andy Astley from Worcestershire had set their heart on an outdoor English Spring wedding, complete with cherry blossom and blue skies. But with the British weather being known for its ‘April showers’, it was important to find a venue (and a photographer!) that could cope with any eventuality…
Step forward unflappable wedding photographer Amy Woodward-Taylor, and specialist wedding venue Warwick House in Southam with its pretty outdoor wedding gazebo designed to keep the wedding party looking fabulous, should the weather take a turn for the worse.
As it turned out, fortune was smiling on Kerri and Andy’s wedding day, which fell during a brief week of gloriously unseasonal sunny weather and they were blessed with cloudless skies and blossom-laden trees… just as they had envisaged.
The guests enjoyed drinks on the terrace in the unbroken sunshine before taking their seats in front of the garden gazebo where…
I am a bit of a Disney-holic. I admit it. It’s my favorite vacation spot. I love everything from the piping hot (albeit overpriced) churros to the princess parades. So, when I saw Sarah and Brandon’s wedding, I kind of giggled with delight. Thank you to Vitalic Photo for sharing all the charming and sweet fun!
Here is a lovely little midweek treat from Scobey Photography! Cynthia and Ken were married in Fort Meyers, FL in a waterfront ceremony with classic details. How gorgeous is Cynthia?! Everything from her necklace to her shoes…fantastic!

One of the best things about spring is all the gorgeous Southern weddings (you know, before the heat and humidity get so unbearable that everyone melts). This lovely lake wedding by Elizabeth Scott Photography is one such example. The location was a combination of both Hillary and Travis’ interests: a little water for her, a little golf for him. The details for this wedding are classic, traditional perfection! And make sure to read below for Hillary’s advice on avoiding a unity candle mishap!
What was your vision for the day?
My vision for the day was simple, classic, and relaxed! The only DIY project I did was the programs. I bought the paper from Michael’s and made them in Microsoft Word and had them printed at Kinko’s. We decided to opt out of having a favor for guests at the reception and instead

When Elaine Palladino sent this wedding over, I was so excited that I giggled. To myself. Out loud. I am such a fan of creamy pale neutrals as wedding colors. Christina’s beaded wedding dress is gorgeous and the flowers throughout are amazing. If you are looking for elegant inspiration, you really need go no further. For those of you planning on having children at your reception check out the super fun basket Christina and JC provided for their little guests!
What did you have in mind for your wedding? Was there a particular theme or mood you were going for?
I wanted something classic, elegant and timeless. I didn’t want to look back at my photos in 20 years and be embarrassed if I chose crazy trendy colors.
What was the most memorable moment of your day?
It was really the best day…
Crystal and Jon were married last autumn at the Waynesborough Country Club in Chester County, PA. Their reception has a Parisian flair, full of Eiffel Tower place card holders and delightful French maps. Thank you to the wonderful Sweetwater Portraits for sharing this little gem with us!
April’s real weddings were all so unique from each other, weren’t they? Especially the locations! For this month’s real wedding round-up I wanted to focus on the beautiful ceremony venues we saw in April! From a quaint British church to San Francisco’s city hall, our couples all said their “I do’s” in some stunning places.
5. Miami oceanfront fun from K & K Photography. Debbie and Chris chose a gorgeous outdoor location–filled with vast lawns, palm trees, and deep blue water.
4. Laidback Florida farm wedding courtesy of Justin DeMutiis Photography. Martha and Rob combined Southern charm and a casual farm vibe to create this pretty event.
3. Classic UK church wedding in Suffolk from Craig and Kate Photography. Emma and Chris’ wedding was full of elegance and simplicity, including their venue choice. This church was the perfect location to start…
I heart this wedding. And not because of the “Huey Lewis and the News” centerpieces (although they are really great) or paper flowers or the fact that Sara and Russell took a traditional location and turned it on its head. What I love is how family-oriented this event was. Sara and Russell wanted Russell’s children to feel not just like observers, but as members of a new family they were helping to create. During the ceremony, instead of lighting a unity candle, they made a peanut butter and honey sandwich and divided into four pieces as a symbol of their togetherness. Love. Thank you to Dark Roux Photography for being so awesome and sharing this amazing event with us!

Craig and Kate are amazing photographers and I’m so very happy that they are sharing this wedding with us! Chris and Emma were married in Suffolk at a charming country church followed by a lively reception full of vintage details. Emma shopped around to make sure that all of the decorative touches were exactly right and even made 100 jars of jam as wedding favors (that is devotion).
Did your wedding location hold a specific significance to you?
We viewed 17 venues in 3 days; it was a military operation. We had a crib sheet so when it came to sitting down and getting it to a short list we would remember each one! Moreves was the first venue we viewed on the Monday morning, and we fell in love with the area as we were trying to find it. We really wanted it to feel…
