Bridal Shower Inspiration Board: Picnic in the Shade

The City Sage is an absolute visual feast. Anne (the mastermind behind the blog) hunts down the beautiful, the inspiring and the just plain cool and then packages them into breathtaking inspiration boards, several times a day. She’s also in the process of launching a new online magazine, Rue, dedicated to ideas for stylish living. Basically, Anne is your new, uber-hip friend whose advice you should totally listen to…

Just Add Lemonade: For bridal shower inspiration, look no further than the nearest park. An open air outing promises girls-only fun and frivolity; with breezy groves or sun-dappled fields, nature takes care of the decor! Go beyond the typical picnic palette of red and white – try hues like poppy,…

Bike Seat Covers and Handle Bar Bags from Beatrice Bikes

When my sister got married last year one of my favorite moments was at the end of the ceremony when the new couple hopped on a tandem bike and rode off into the sunset. Okay, maybe they just rode around the block but it still created a very dramatic exit.

I only wish we would have known about these bike seat covers from Beatrice Bikes. They’d spruce up a bike nicely, taking it from everyday to special enough for your wedding day, don’t you think? And the handle bar bag is totally genius. It acts as a handle bar bag while you’re cruising around town and once you get to your locale you can swing it over…

Heidi and Brent’s Laid-back Hawaiian Wedding by Red Heart Photo

I’m not sure if it’s because Fall is officially here or if we’re all feeling like we could use a week on the beach after the blog launch, but Heidi and Brent’s wedding makes getting married in Hawaii look like the thing to do. There are lots of little details that show the care and thought they put into it – the shell design on her train, the tiny flowers on her shoes, the flowers on the cake mirrored in her bouquet – but it manages to also look completely effortless, doesn’t it? It just feels so…Hawaiian. As if at any moment they might jump in the ocean for a short surf. Which (spoiler alert!) they just might do……

You All Saved Me From a Drab, Shower Curtainless Life!

I have to start this post off with a big ole thank you to all of you. For months, I’ve been obsessing about this ruffled shower curtain at Anthropologie and plotting how I could possibly convince my husband we needed it, when suddenly it hit me. I did need it. For you! Yes, dear readers, I realized I would have to make the ultimate sacrifice and purchase this (gorgeous, heavenly, oh-so-perfect) shower curtain because if there was ever a perfect photo booth backdrop, this was it. Easy to set-up, it creates an interesting dimension in your photos and has the added bonus you can use it for the rest of your life. And, of course,…

Chris and CC’s Totally Glam Woodland Fairy Wedding from Feather Love

This inaugural wedding is a doozy. It’s about as glam as they come, every photo reveals a new, steal-worthy detail and the bride and groom, well, let’s just say they don’t come cooler than Chris and CC. Seriously. I can’t decide if Noa over at Feather Love Photography just happens to shoot the hippest people on the planet or if her skills just bring out the inner Rat Pack in everyone. It’s probably a bit of both.

Meeko and Emily’s Hilltop Wedding in Tiburon, CA

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story:
Meeko and I met working together at a restaurant in college. He was the older, hunky bartender, and I was the 18 year-old hostess. We worked together for almost 8 months, shamelessly flirting all along, before I successfully FORCED him to ask me out (yes, that’s right, I threatened him). After a couple of dates – and we’re talking classy dates like dinner at In ‘N Out – Meeko asked me to be “his lady.” The rest is history.

What was the theme or design inspiration for your wedding?
I am a graphic designer and wanted everything to be simple, chic, vintage inspired, and welcoming. I wanted people to feel…

Jordan and Julia’s Special Day in Los Angeles, CA

What was the theme or design inspiration for your wedding?
We wanted it to look like us – we didn’t want it to look manufactured or standard in any way. We wanted it to be eclectic, but simple and classy at the same time. Ultimately our own aesthetic sense and style were the inspirations, as well as the landscape around us.

Tell us about the bridal attire:
The bridesmaids wore simple navy chiffon dresses and the groomsmen wore navy suits. The groom wore a pale grey Lanvin suit and the bride wore a vintage-inspired chantilly lace Vera Wang gown with velvet and chiffon floral bloom belt.

Favorite design element of your big day:
We decided not to have wedding colors…
