James and Sabiha’s Romantic Nuptials in New Hope, PA

How did the two of you meet?
Jim and I met while working together at an advertising agency. He was working as a graphic designer and I was working in the marketing department. I remember being new to the company and really shy. We met in the elevator during my first week. I remember immediately having a crush on him. He had the most amazing smile and was so sincere.

What was the theme or design inspiration for your wedding?
When we got engaged, the only request Jim made was that our wedding happen in autumn because that’s his favorite time of year. We got engaged in August 2007 and married in October 2008. We decided that the color scheme would include navy, purples, yellow and gold. I didn’t necessarily have a theme planned but I wanted our wedding to represent fall and I wanted to embrace our…

Trend We Love: Carnival Chic

You may have noticed the growing trend of carnival themes lately. It seems like everything from engagement photo sessions to wedding favors have been influenced by the State Fair. If youv’e been trying to incorporate this trend into your wedding plans, you have probably noticed that there is a fine line between carnival chic and circus freak show.

A few helpful suggestions:
-Err on the side of muted tones. Rather than the traditional circus primary colors, use sky blue or light aqua, red, and a pale yellow.
-Don’t assume that this is just a reception idea. As you can see in the images above, taking your “day after” photo session to a carnival is also something that will provide you with an interesting and colorful backdrop.
-If you love this theme, but feel like it would interfere with the vision you have for your wedding day, use…

Andrea and Richard in Fort Worth, Texas

How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story:
My husband’s brother introduced us at a concert in February of 2008. We made a connection right away. After several months of a long-distance relationship (I was away at graduate school), he flew me back to Texas for the weekend. When he picked me up he was wearing a black suit and looked very handsome. He had made reservations at a beautiful restaurant and took me to eat. He had requested for us to be seated at a private table. We were the only ones in that section of the restaurant.

After dessert, he proposed!!! I was so happy and surprised, I could not believe it!!!

What was the theme or design inspiration for your wedding?
I wanted a beautiful wedding that was more modern than traditional. At first I did not know what my inspiration would be…

Color Board: Brown and Ivory Inspiration

One of the most popular wedding colors chosen for a late year wedding is brown. (In the wedding world, they’re known as Espresso or Cocoa.) Whether used as an accent color or as your main feature, brown is perfect for just about any style or occasion. Pair it with orange, yellow, blue or pink for a casual, playful look. Match it up with an ivory or a lighter shade of brown, like Mocha, for an elegant, classic feel.

And a fun fact, brown’s richness actually goes beyond the surface. The color brown signifies warmth, intelligence and trust, important characteristics for any couple’s big day.
