Candy Anthony Rocks the Short, Vintage Wedding Dress

I’ve gotta get it out on the table – I have a very soft spot in my heart for a tea-length wedding dress. They’re full of personality, super-flattering and the way they spin! I can tell you from experience that if you were ever a little girl who tested a dress’ “spin factor” before committing to wearing it, a vintage, tea-length gown is the way to go.

And, no one is rocking the look harder than London designer, Candy Anthony. Their new collection is full of their signature ’50s- and ’60s-inspired dresses that feel, rather than costume-y, totally British and cool (I think it has something to do with the oversized veils…). And while they have a distinctly retro feel, all of the dresses are original designs made right in the UK.

If you’re not sure how it would translate to your wedding day, head over…

Classic Bridesmaid Dresses from LulaKate

Maybe it’s because Spring is in the air but I’m finding myself drawn to bright colors more and more this season. And LulaKate’s line of bridesmaid dresses feel like the perfect antidote to the Winter months. Colorful and cheery, her dresses also have refined elegance that speaks to its designer’s Southern roots. And with the dresses’ classic lines, just about every body type will find a comfortable home.

Each dress is available in a multitude of colors (seriously, there are a ton to choose from) using either a silk fabric or a striped, seersucker cotton blend.  With all of the colors and styles to choose from each member of your party could wear the same color but with a different style or you could even choose a couple colors from the same palette to really spice things up.

And while her dresses have a timeless feel,…

Romantic, Natural Crowns and Tiaras from Which Goose

Ever since we featured Dave and Kelly’s engagement session with her to-die-for flower headpiece, I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for wedding crowns that had a similar feel. I loved how one accessory could lend the entire shoot an eclectic, outdoors-y feel. Well, today, dear readers, I’m happy to report success!

Which Goose handmakes natural crowns and headpieces that feel plucked straight from the garden (except that you get to wear them over and over again…). While many of the tiaras are made from vintage flowers and accessories, she also has a full line that is created on natural vines for a true woodland feel. Queen of the Woods is one her designs that sits on a natural vine and features a pine cone rose (I didn’t even know there was such a thing, but it sure is pretty!).

Love this Dorothy Dreams tiara,…

Comfy, Vintage-Inspired Shoes from Hey Lady

After an all-night Vegas dance party and a pair of uncomfortable wedding shoes, twins Jessica and Emily began to think that there had to be a way to marry comfort with killer-looking pair of heels. Why shouldn’t you be able to dance all night and still be able to walk in the morning? So, they set about creating Hey Lady, spending a full year working on the comfort features of their shoes, ensuring that future brides wouldn’t need to suffer the indignity of bare feet at her wedding.

And, their shoes not only feature all sorts of support (an insole with shock-absorbent memory foam, a balanced and centered heel, to name a few) but they are cool! They really do have something for everyone. Their At Tiffany’s first caught my eye as a perfect vintage-inspired heel, delicate yet still funky.

And how pretty is their…

Sneak Peek! Tom’s New Line of Wedding Shoes

Around here we absolutely adore Tom’s Shoes. Their One for One program has given over one million shoes to kids in need around the world (for every pair purchased they give a pair away); last year we all participated in their Day Without Shoes to get a sense of what it’s like to not have a pair (it’s cold).  But, I hadn’t ever genuinely considered them as wedding shoes until I saw how cute Ashley’s bridesmaids looked in their black, sparkly versions.

Now I’m totally sold (plus, they are shoes your bridesmaids and you can actually wear again!).

So you can imagine how excited we are to give you a sneak peek at Tom’s new collection, which will be hitting stores in early March. Same unmistakable style in brand-new colors.

I’m so all about the glitter (subtlety is not my fashion strength) and am…

Oh-So-Pretty, Retro-Inspired Purses from Bagatelles&co

I’m a big believer that all you need is the right accessories to take your outfit from cute to Wowza! – an interesting headpiece, a killer pair of heels, a sentimental cocktail ring, or, in the case of Bagatelles&co, a retro-inspired purse.

Designed by a French textile designer living in London, Bagatelle’s line is handmade from vintage silks, tie silk and brocade remnant so each edition is limited, making for a unique bridesmaid gift or bridal purse that not everyone else will be sporting. And Rym will further personalize the purses with custom messages sewn in (think your wedding date, a sweet message to your bridesmaid, or even, just the word “love”).

Her Day in the Countryside clutch would be perfect for bridesmaids’ dresses, but wouldn’t it also be a gorgeous pop of color with a shorter beach dresses?

And, I love, love,…

Pretty, Flirty Wedding Dresses from Ivy and Aster

If I were going to get married on a beach, in the woods, in a garden (really any place at all), I could see wearing one of the dresses from Ivy and Aster’s collection. They’re just so pretty! They feel light and airy and look so easy to wear. And, maybe it’s the sugar from my Cinnamon Toast Crunch talking, but they have a sort of magical quality, don’t they? Like you would feel like a princess on your wedding day, but more the kind that puts flowers behind her ears than wears big tiaras.

Ahem.

They also have a gorgeous line of bridesmaid dresses that have the same flow-y, flirty quality, as well as accessories that would prettify just about anything (this Butterfly Capelet would be perfect for a church wedding).

Anthropologie Launches BHLDN and We All Jump for Joy!

Have you all heard the news? I feel like it’s the best Valentine’s Day present ever (next to whatever my husband thinks up for me, obviously) – Urban Outfitters, Inc., the mad geniuses behind Anthropologie and Urban, just today opened up their online wedding shop, BHLDN, and it is heavenly.

And, truly, I don’t think heavenly is an overstatement. These dresses are ridiculous! They all have the signature Anthroplogie feel – creative and inspired – while still catering to all sorts of body types and styles; there are dramatic ballroom dresses, a whole bunch of short kicky numbers, and lots of romantic sheaths. Plus, they’re all priced between $1000 – 4000.

Elegantly Simple Wedding Dresses from Justina McCaffrey

Justina McCaffrey’s collection of wedding dresses covers a large range of styles – a sheath dress with lace overlay that feels very now; a classic Princess cut with sweetheart neckline that looks, well, princess-esque; a Jackie-O fairy tale ball gown; a mermaid cut that marries fitted lace detailing with a silk train. What they have all in common though is that not one of them looks overdone.

Rather each one has a simplicity and elegance about it while still making a (subtle) statement. This is going to sound really cheesy but I feel like these dresses let you be the star of the show – they’re just going to help you along on your journey.

This is just a taste of what Justina has to offer. Head over to her site to see her full collection.
