I’m not going to lie to you, I love myself a girly ruffle. And it seems to me that there is no better time for pulling out the pretty than right around your wedding. Whether you’re adding a ruffled necklace to your shower outfit, decking your bridesmaids out in these killer peony dresses from Quail Bridal or adding a ruffle-y heel to your wedding dress, it’s a feminine way to let the world know here comes the bride.
Peony bridesmaid dress: Quail Bridal
Ruffle necklace (with DIY instructions!): Ruffles and Stuff
Cake stand: Vessels and Wares
Unicorn heel shoes: ModCloth
Ruffle purse: Piper Lime
Heels with ruffle ankle strap: Coclico
Ruffle bra: Anthropologie
Generally recognized as a symbol of good luck, many brides are integrating feathers into their weddings. If you like this idea, add small touches to avoid looking like a Mardi Gras gone awry. The only exception is, of course, if you are actually having a Mardi Gras themed reception (as shown in the feather centerpieces above).
Especially if you are sticking to a white or pale color palette, small feathers can add interesting texture to bouquets. If you are going with bolder colors, such as red or black, incorporate them into hair accessories or shoes.

Planning my best friend’s wedding is starting to become a lot harder than I thought. The theme? Vintage inspired with a modern twist. So what does “vintage inspired” mean to her? She has a list ten miles long which consists of family heirlooms, the Victorian era, delicate lace details, gardens, antiques, cream and blush tones, black and white pictures and so on.
So I am happy to say that we can check off the dress. It has amazing feathery lace detail that covers the low back and wraps around the side of the gown meeting the gathered chiffon at the waistline. It is the most beautiful shade of cream and the cascading chiffon of the skirt shows an alluring slit at the front.
As we all know it is all about the dress; however me being a true shoe girl at heart I am going to focus on the shoes.…
Happy Friday! The java hasn’t quite kicked in yet, so until it does, take a re-look at this gorgeous wedding in Palm Springs by Beautiful Day Photography.
How did the two of you meet? Tell us your story:
Adam and I were both dating other people and met one night at my friend’s restaurant. We were hooked from that moment. We became each others’ other half…honestly…it’s an incredible feeling to know within minutes that this is the one you want to spend the rest of your life with. I feel like we are twin souls…that we have known each other long before we met.
What was the theme | design inspiration for your wedding?
We are both “old souls”…with that said we were inspired to have a vintage looking wedding…we decided on the 50′s and 60′s style of Palm Springs as our inspiration. We really wanted…
I just found out that Havaianas now does custom orders! I’m both excited and pissed. I wish that Havaianas had introduced this, oh, um almost THREE YEARS AGO when I was planning my crazy turquoise and orange beach wedding. I would have loved to have made custom bright orange and turquoise wedding sandals. Ah well, it may not be too late for YOU! By the way, this is totally not a sponsored post — I just think that this is a really good idea for wedding party gifts, and bride and groom sandals. Allow me to use my wedding colors to give y’all an idea of what you can do.
So after you chose your base color and your strap color, you can chose to adorn your sandals with charms. Unfortunately you’re limited to these letters and few characters, and you can ONLY do two on each foot.…
Whether you’re planning a casual beachside event or an elegant black tie affair in a grand ballroom, it’s important that your attire (and your bridal party’s!) match the style and feel of your Green wedding. Luckily, you don’t have to sacrifice your look to make greener choices.
Wedding attire is typically made up of one-time wear pieces, and many wedding gowns are made from unsustainable materials that are often dipped in bleach and chemicals. Bridesmaid dresses retire to the closet after just a few hours of wear, and unfortunately, formal tuxedos don’t really lend themselves to everyday wear.
To help you and your bridal party get the look you want on your wedding day, check out these eco-chic alternatives so everybody from your from to the bridesmaids can dress to impress while still being green.
Pre-loved and Good as New:
Brides often consider their wedding dress to be the ultimate…
I don’t know if you’ve had a chance to check it out yet but the mywedding home page has been taken over by Spring loveliness, also known as pink! But, it’s not just any pink, no sirree. It’s Pantone’s color of the year – Honeysuckle – which all of us have been absolutely drooling over. It’s fresh, it’s happy and, I think, it’s so much fun.
It is one of those colors you’ll have to use sparingly (too much and your wedding could turn into a Barbie, Pepto Bismol nightmare), but paired with softer pinks, creams or even a soft yellow, it is just the right amount of romantic.
Here are a couple of ideas to get you started thinking pink…
