A Lovely Seaside Wedding from Kardashian Finale’s Singer/Songwriter

Perhaps you’ve heard of a little family called the Kardashians? And perhaps you’re even planning on watching their season finale tonight (I know I am for purely – ahem – professional reasons)? Well, when Chris proposes to Kim make sure to pay attention to the song playing, “I Do“, because it’s written and performed by one of our all-time favorite brides, Stacy, who shared her adorable engagement shoot with us last November! How fantastic is that!?!

Now if that wasn’t exciting enough, Stacy also sent along wedding photos by Farhad Samari from her lovely seaside wedding in Newport Beach, California. It has all the elements we love – a gorgeous dress, fun shoes and personal…

A Barefoot Maui Wedding from Offbeat Bride

Megan and Paul wanted to have a non-traditional wedding to reflect their own unique style, so they choose to fly from Seattle to Maui and get married, barefoot on the beach… just the two of them. At least that was the original plan. Once their family found out about their beach wedding they bought tickets to tag along!

Megan didn’t see herself making the grand entrance all by herself, so she and Paul walked down the “isle” together, as all their guests sung “All You Need is Love.” They went for Hawaiian-based vows, and, when it was time for the kiss, Megan surprised everyone by leaping into Paul’s arms.

Their wedding fashions were also as non-traditional as their wedding: Converse shoes,…

Gorgeous Mexican Wedding by Fer Juaristi

Okay, so when I saw this wedding my longstanding plans for eloping to Vegas (you know, as soon as Mr.Right comes along–seriously, where is he? I’ve got a wedding to plan!) immediately became a thing of the past. Jennie and Rushi’s Mexican Riviera event incorporates all that is awesome about weddings–beautiful dresses, stunning shoes, great friends, and what appears to be a pretty fantastic afterparty. And all of this takes place on the beach in Mexico?! Sold!  Check out all the gorgeous pictures below from Fer Juaristi!

Sun-Filled, New Zealand Nuptials from Jacin at Lovely Little Details

Nothing says love like a simple and sentimental seaside ceremony (say that 5 times fast!), and this stunner from the husband and wife photography/filmmaker duo Bubblerock Studios is a true example of what love is all about.

Setting: Snells Beach, Auckland – New Zealand
Photographer: Bubblerock Studios

A true family affair, Joy and Kennedy, or Ken as friends & family call him, were surrounded by the love of those they held near and dear to their hearts. Everything in this wedding was hand-made, in a true labor of love. With a stunning seascape as the backdrop to their outdoor ceremony and reception, and crystal clear blue skies, these two had the makings for an absolutely picture…

A Vintage Engagement Shoot at the Beach from Hyer Images

I’m knee-deep in the middle of Royal Wedding madness over here (we have such fun stuff planned for the lead up, including posts from guest bloggers you are going to go gaga over) and while I love the drama of it all, Rebecca and Kevin’s windswept, beach engagement session from Hyer Images is a breath of fresh air. It’s just the two of them, sharing their love against some truly breath-taking back drops (there is one shot of a lighthouse in the background that is just to die for…).

Which is not to say that their session doesn’t involve some killer duds, including a very jaunty cap and bow tie worn by the groom; these two know…

A Laidback, Beach Wedding from Heirloom Creative

There are some weddings that come through my inbox where I think, “Oh man, I wish I’d be invited to that party”, which was most definitely the case with Brandy and Doug’s wedding, photographed by Heirloom Creative. Held on a small beach in South Carolina, the couple threw the ultimate backyard wedding (if your backyard happens to include an incredible views of the ocean).

And, to me, it looks like Brandy and Doug (and all of their guests) had seriously good time; judging by the couple’s smiles and the amount of love Heirloom Creative captured, I’d say their wedding details – barefoot on the beach, a serious dance party, the “Fortune Telling for Brides” book and tree carving – fit…

Get Married Outside! Our Favorite Outdoor Venues

Maybe it’s because it’s been raining here for the past few days, but all I can think about is going outdoors and enjoying the sun. And there is no better time to head outside and let Mother Nature work her magic than on your wedding day.

I’ve put together a few of my favorite outdoor wedding venues, but I’m sure I’ve missed a bunch! Let me know what I missed or if you’re planning an outdoor wedding in the comments section.

Beach: Of course, at the top of our list has to be beach weddings (okay, maybe I’m a teensy bit partial because that’s where I got hitched). There is something so romantic about waves crashing onto a sandy beach…

A Very California Engagement Session by Betwixt Studios

Not to go all Beach Boys on you, but there is something about Southern California, isn’t there? The sandy beaches, blue skies, convertibles, sunny days… it all makes me doubly-happy that Spring is on its way! And, this session by Betwixt Studio is what I think of as a quintessential San Diego shoot – Lindsay and Blair first take an ocean drive in her dad’s Corvette, then a spin on their Cruiser bikes, and finish up, where else but, at the beach.

It’s a lovely engagement shoot, featuring a couple that looks totally at home with each other and in laid-back surroundings. So sit back, relax and enjoy a bit of sunshine…

Proud to say Betwixt Studios is a mywedding member.

An Aruba Destination Wedding from Aregrayline Photography

Megan and Chris’ wedding can be encapsulated in just two words – Party. Bus. And maybe sunglasses. All right, throw in flamingos too. Let’s just say, their wedding (captured beautifully by Aregrayline Photography) looks like the ultimate beach holiday with friends and family. They have the white sandy beaches, the palm trees and tropical marine life, and, of course, the ultimate party bus.

And while they perfectly captured the beach wedding elements, their wedding also has an true elegance. The church where they were married is absolutely stunning, the attire beach classic, and the details Megan added, like the bridesmaid’s parasols, give it a splash of color without being over-the-top. Basically, it’s Aruba meets a very fun, tasteful couple.

Megan…

Rose and Dylan’s San Francisco Engagement Session by Daniela DeGrassi

Oh, Nelly, we are feeling the love around here! With the engagement shoots we’ve been getting, every day is starting to feel like Valentine’s Day around here. Case in point, today’s engagement session from Daniela DeGrassi. Rose and Dylan are playful, stunning, and, yes, generate some serious heat.

And, what a variety of settings! (Full disclosure: I live in San Francisco so I have a bit of an affinity for the place). There’s the beach, the lake at the Palace of Fine Arts, foggy cliffs and, my personal favorite, the Jazz murals, where it feels like the portraits are almost a part of the shoot.

Make sure to keep reading after the photos as today we have…
