A Warm, Outdoor Engagement Shoot from Lindsey Gomes Photography

Good morning and Happy Royal Wedding Week! Yep, the week of the Wedding of the Year has arrived and no doubt we’re going to have non-stop Royal coverage coming out our ears (okay, I admit it – we’re joining the party and have some stuff planned too). Well, today’s engagement shoot is the perfect antidote to all of the over-the-top craziness…

Brian and Julia’s lovely engagement session (photographed by Lindsey Gomes Photography) is sweet, simple and focuses on the core of the matter – two folks who are very obviously in love. I love that this session is all about the couple and that they don’t need to haul out the pomp and circumstance to get the job…

A Britannia Inspiration Shoot from Rock My Wedding

Rock My Wedding is one of the, well, rocking-est blogs out there. Rebecca manages to pair British cool with an easy accessibility that makes her blog a must-read for brides, no matter where they live. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her stop by to get us all ready for the Royal Wedding!Well hello there, from across the pond! It’s Rebecca here from Rock My Wedding and I’m really excited to have been asked to write a couple of guest posts in anticipation of the wedding of the year, the Royal Wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William. As you can imagine, wedding fever is taking the UK by storm and we’re all super excited to see what…

A San Francisco Day After Shoot from Emily Takes Photos

Remember how last week I went all gaga for Jason and Grace’s DIY wedding from Emily Takes Photos? Well, they’re back! This time with their Day After shoot, which has the same eclectic, fun vibe as their wedding but features some of their favorite San Francisco hang outs – Mission Pie, the Embarcadero, and the hills above the city in Bernal Heights.

And, I think these photos exemplify what I like best about Day Afters – all of the wedding excitement is over so the couple is free to relax and just be themselves, making for very natural shots. I’ve got to think, too, the whole session is a blast; it’s not passing in…

An Engagement Shoot Around Nashville from Chris and Adrienne Scott Photography

Happy Friday! To kick off the weekend how about a tour of Nashville’s hot spots, courtesy of Leah and Eric’s engagement session? I haven’t been but this session has convinced me I need to go!

The idea for the session stemmed from the couple deciding they wanted to have a guest book at their wedding of Nashville’s landmarks. Rather than just heading out and buying a generic version from the book store, they (along their photographers, husband and wife team Chris and Adrienne Scott) went ahead and created their own.

The result is an intimate look at a city they obviously adore. We get a glimpse into the diversity of Centennial Park (it features…

A Book Lovers’ Engagement Session from Bethany Belle Photography

Today’s engagement shoot from Bethany Belle Photography has two of my absolute favorite things – an ode to books and a couple with some serious fashion sense. Christian definitely knows how to work a bow tie, and Stacey…well, let’s just say I’m suffering from shoe envy out the wazoo and am going to have to some research on circle scarves.

But, the shoot isn’t just about their killer duds. The couple is planning a book-themed wedding so they thought what better venue for their photos than the library? Styled by Patterns on Walls, it’s a very modern shoot with a touch of vintage flair.

Rose and Dylan’s San Francisco Engagement Session by Daniela DeGrassi

Oh, Nelly, we are feeling the love around here! With the engagement shoots we’ve been getting, every day is starting to feel like Valentine’s Day around here. Case in point, today’s engagement session from Daniela DeGrassi. Rose and Dylan are playful, stunning, and, yes, generate some serious heat.

And, what a variety of settings! (Full disclosure: I live in San Francisco so I have a bit of an affinity for the place). There’s the beach, the lake at the Palace of Fine Arts, foggy cliffs and, my personal favorite, the Jazz murals, where it feels like the portraits are almost a part of the shoot.

Make sure to keep reading after the photos as today we have…

Bethany and Brandon’s Urban Skateboarding Engagement Session

Bethany and Brandon’s downtown engagement shoot by Wes Weber Photography has all the elements of a city session we love – cobblestone streets, a painted wall with a killer sign, charming downtown shops, plus a mini-skateboarding session that shows off the couple’s playful side. There’s such a great mix of photos here – romantic, fun, sassy… Who can blame them when they crack open a bottle of champagne at the end of the shoot?

Anne and Mathias’ Timeless San Francisco Wedding

We’ve all witnessed Anne of the City Sage’s impeccable taste over on her blog and in her guest posts for us, but to see it play out in real life, in her wedding no less, is really quite special. Because she does have great taste – the muted palette she chose that pops with purple every now and again, the tight bunches of elegant flowers, her stunning veil, they all lend an air of nostalgic elegance to her day.

And her photos really do look timeless, don’t they? I feel like years from now people will look at these photos and think, “Man, I wish we knew how to dress like that still.”

Huge thanks to Anne and…

A Jaunty Polka-dot Wedding in Leeds, England by Anna Hardy

Tom and Lisa’s wedding from Anna Hardy is (I have to say it) absolutely delightful. It’s one of those weddings where the joy leaps off the screen and does a little happy dance. Or in Lisa’s case, a happy twirl.

If there were ever a wedding that illustrated that doing it your own way is the only way, this is it. The dashing fedora, the gorgeous polka-dot dress, the courthouse ceremony and those fabulous, fabulous shoes…Even though I’ve never met Tom and Lisa, somehow I can’t imagine them doing it any other way.

Be sure to check out Lisa’s thoughts below, as well as Anna’s on the whole day. What a lovely pair!
