Bachelorette Party

10 Co-Ed Bachelor(ette) Parties from The Man Registry

Planning to have a co-ed bachelor(ette) party, but aren’t sure what kind of party will appeal to both sexes? Consider one of these fun ideas:

  1. Wine Tasting. If your group of friends enjoys a great glass of vino, arrange a tour and tasting at a local winery or a weekend trip to a nearby city or area known for its wineries and sample a few. Make sure to arrange transportation for everyone beforehand, so guests can enjoy the tasting without worrying about how to get home later.
  2. Film Festival. Have a group of movie buffs? Attend a local film festival or plan a night out at the local drive in or in someone’s backyard and screen your favorite movies

Sponsored post: Maggiano’s Little Italy

When I was a kid, we had some close family friends, the Manfredas. Mr. & Mrs. Manfreda had come from Italy and settled in San Francisco, finding a home in the North Beach neighborhood and raising their three children. This was a family that was serious about their food. In fact, they converted the entire lower level of their home (which would have ordinarily functioned as their garage) into one giant kitchen and dining room with a massive table where friends and family would gather together for any reason to celebrate over a big meal.

During many a get together, out of this basement kitchen would roll enormous piping hot platters of homemade pastas: spaghetti with fresh marinara sauce, baked ziti, when we were…

An Inspiration Board That’s All About the Ruffle

I’m not going to lie to you, I love myself a girly ruffle. And it seems to me that there is no better time for pulling out the pretty than right around your wedding. Whether you’re adding a ruffled necklace to your shower outfit, decking your bridesmaids out in these killer peony dresses from Quail Bridal or adding a ruffle-y heel to your wedding dress, it’s a feminine way to let the world know here comes the bride.

Handmade Undies With a Kick from Mahoohoo

There’s a pretty good chance that if you’re involved with a wedding you’re going to be heading to either a shower or bachelorette party where you’ll need to bring a lingerie gift. And while we’re all for a cute negligee, these undies from Mahoohoo have the advantage of being very wearable and totally different. They’re a little bit rock-n-roll tempered with a touch of sweetness (check out the ruffles on her punk pair below!).

A Shower Outfit that Transitions to Your Bachelorette

So your friends are throwing you a lovely shower in the afternoon and then taking you out on the town for your bachelorette party and the big question is – What in the world are you going to wear? The two events couldn’t be more different – your shower calls for something a bit softer and sweeter while a night out on the town means pulling out the sexy and fun.

We found this rockin’ dress from one of our favorite online stores ModCloth, which makes the transition impeccably (and is only $52.99 to boot!) when paired with black tights and changing accessories.

DIY (sort of): Dolling Up Your Cupcakes with Ticings

Today’s DIY post is, quite frankly, my kind of DIY – a teeny bit of work for some excellent (and delicious!) results. I’d run into Ticings awhile back and thought they were such a brilliant and easy idea, I wanted to try them out. Basically, Ticings are edible icing appliques that you just peel and stick on cupcakes to pretty them up. They have all sorts of designs with a line specially dedicated to weddings, that even includes a version for your wedding cake (it’s really pretty).

Make sure you do head over to their site to check out all of their designs. I’m not sure my photos do the cuteness factor justice…
