Outside of getting to look at prettiness all day, there are two things I love best about my job. One, is the fantastic community of bloggers and business owners I’ve gotten to know; the other is giving away free stuff. And, lo and behold, I’ve got a little bit of both for you today! It’s like my perfect blogging day, come true…

The other night I was lucky enough to get to attend the For Japan With Love silent auction and what a turn out! The place was jam-packed with all sorts of goodies to bid on, glamorous wedding professionals and, of course, lots of good will. Now, please excuse my very unprofessional photos (see, this is why you hire a professional), but I wanted to share a couple of shots from the evening.

More blogger friends – Emily and Megan from Enjoy Events (and forget.me.knot.weddings).

One of the actual Shelter Boxes and the the volunteer team who heads out to locales that have been hit by catastrophes to distribute them. Each one of the boxes costs $1000 but can help house 10 people.

The treat table and, yes, it was as delicious as it looks.

Jacin also put together some of her Jars of Love (yes, the woman is a Super Woman) to help raise extra funds – delicious! And a peek at the weekend getaway and massage package, one of our mywedding members, Oceano Hotel and Spa, generously donated for the silent auction.

What a wonderful evening!

For our other big news of the day- we have a winner in our Minted contest! Jeannine from Small and Chic – come on down! You’ve won 100 wedding invite suites or 100 place card and program sets from Minted. Now, comes the hard part – deciding which invite to go with. You’ll have to let us know what you finally decide!

And, I just have to say, how much I love this Delightfully Engaged community. We asked you to tell us what easy things you can do to make an impact on the Earth this next year and you are such a motivated bunch! From taking time to recycle (Kathryn’s fiancé actually brings his recycling over to her house!) to car pooling to eating locally and sustainably, you are all doing the little things that make a huge difference. I feel so lucky to be a part of it all…
