We are having a small wedding, about 50 guests, but both my fiancé and I have several very close friends.  Is it strange to have a wedding party of 12 when the guest list is so small?—Karen, Detroit, MI

It might look a little funny, yes.  Traditionally, small ceremonies only have a few attendants.  However, provided you have enough room to accommodate the party for the ceremony, and you are both willing to take on the expense of that many attendants, who cares?   The wedding is not only a celebration of the couple’s relationship, but also of the relationships that they have with friends and family.
