There’s a lot of love going around this season: a contagious epidemic that’s got all the right hues, tailoring and of course: style. Today’s real wedding is no exception, and I’m excited to prove with beautifully captured images that cutting on budget doesn’t have to mean cutting on style.
Setting: Fayetteville, North Carolina
Heroine/ Hero: Mexican American bride – Valerie and her African American beau – Kenneth
Signature Colors: Orchid, Aubergine and Gray
Photographer: Carolyn Scott
SCENE #1: AUBERGINE & AURA
One of the best ways to cut expenses and stick to budget is to use local vendors, seasonal produce and flowers…and employ the volunteered services of family and friends. These were all tools used by the bride in pulling off her big day.
What advice would you offer to other brides planning their own wedding? Do what you want to do. Stick to your original plan. Keep you and your husband first. Realize that at the end of the day the person that needs to be happy is you. This is your moment…enjoy it! It also helps to have an idea of what you want to do ahead of time, and if you are working within a budget as we were that you plan far enough in advance so that you can search for deals that allow you to incorporate every aspect of the wedding you have been dreaming of.
