If Frank and Caroline look familiar to you, it is probably because you saw their super cool lakeside engagement session awhile back. Their Walt Disney Concert Hall wedding, also captured by Perpixel Photo, is equally fantastic. Check out Caroline’s thoughts on her wedding below and her adorable detail nods to the movie “Up” (if you haven’t seen this, rent it right away with Kleenex and chocolate in hand).

Did your wedding location hold a specific significance to you?
The WDCH didn’t really hold any significance but we wanted to have our wedding somewhere that was memorable. We felt that hotels, country, clubs, and beaches are so typical and we wanted something that our guests will be able to remember each time they pass it or see it in a picture.
What was the most meaningful part of your day?
The most meaningful part of my day would most definitely have to be our first look. And being able to have the “moment” for just the two of us, and take in that moment. I was just so excited to finally see each other and see his reaction!
Did anything funny or out of the ordinary happen?
Well, one of the ushers who was posted at our bridal room was crying when she saw me in my dress. She was the sweetest lady and she said that she felt so happy for us. I thought that was really out of the ordinary.
A funny moment would most definitely have to be my bouquet toss. I definitely judged the distance wrong and overthrew my bouquet. But we tried it a second time and got it right this time.
Tell us about your wedding details.
The day went by so fast that it’s crazy how much went into our wedding. We got married at the garden located at the WDCH and had our reception at the BP Hall inside. We put a lot of thought into the details of this wedding from making our own photobooth prop/backdrop/scrapbook/etc. We also did the “Up” thumbprint house and we designed our own seating chart. We scoured flea markets and thrift stores for props and signs. I definitely wish I could do this all over again!
How did you know your partner was “the one”?
I knew my partner was ” the one’ because we have been through so much. We have been together for over 5 years and we definitely knew we were meant to be. Growing up I’ve always had a long list of what my dream guy would be, and Frank definitely fulfilled 95% of that checklist! I’m so lucky to have found a guy like him and am thrilled to spend the rest of my life with him!
Any advice you’d give new brides who are just getting started?
Take it all in, the process, the engagement , the wedding, all of it. We were engaged for a year before we got married and even felt like that wasn’t enough time to plan a wedding. There are definitely stressful times but in the end when you’re on the dance floor with your husband, you realize how much it was all worth it. Do a lot of research before settling down for any one vendor. Don’t be afraid to ask for referral discounts. And be creative! And Michael’s will be your best friend with their weekly coupons!
