Sheena and Michael had a very intimate wedding in the most charming little A-frame wooden chapel on Green Mountain in Huntsville, Alabama (all photographed by the talented White Rabbit Studios). These two had their whole celebration in the morning, before the heat got too intense. And Sheena had one AMAZING rainbow rose bouquet, like you’ve probably never seen before.

Did your wedding location and date hold a special significance for you?
Yes, Michael actually proposed to me on Green Mountain and we have always thought the area was beautiful so we decided we might as well get married there too.
Tell us about the details of the day.
I think the day was a lot simpler than we all thought it would be, everything went pretty smoothly. We started with decorating around 7am then went back to get ready for the ceremony. We had our first look photos done then proceeded with the ceremony which was short and sweet just the way I wanted it. Our reception was great, we just had some close friends and family there, nothing too extravagant and everyone seemed to have a good time despite the heat that day.
Did you create any DIY projects?
We made our bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces ourselves and our amazing grandparents made the favors for us. None of us had ever actually put bouquets together so it was an interesting experience, but I had a wonderful maid of honor that did a great job putting the bouquets together. She really took lead on putting all of the flower arrangements together and I don’t know what I would have done without her!
What was the most meaningful part of your day?
The most meaningful part of the day for me had to be when Michael were taking our photos together. It was one of the only times during the wedding that we spent together since we were making rounds during the reception to make sure we said “hi” to everyone.
Did anything funny or out of the ordinary happen?
I would have to say the funniest part of the day was definitely the ceremony. At some point during the ceremony I drew a blank and forgot what the officiant told me to say! Then, I couldn’t get Michael’s ring on his finger, it was a lot of fun though and everyone got a good laugh from it .
Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding?
My advice would definitely be to just try your best to relax, everything will work out and fall into place!
