Romantic, Natural Crowns and Tiaras from Which Goose

Ever since we featured Dave and Kelly’s engagement session with her to-die-for flower headpiece, I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for wedding crowns that had a similar feel. I loved how one accessory could lend the entire shoot an eclectic, outdoors-y feel. Well, today, dear readers, I’m happy to report success!

Which Goose handmakes natural crowns and headpieces that feel plucked straight from the garden (except that you get to wear them over and over again…). While many of the tiaras are made from vintage flowers and accessories, she also has a full line that is created on natural vines for a true woodland feel. Queen of the Woods is one her designs that sits on a natural vine and features a pine cone rose (I didn’t even know there was such a thing, but it sure is pretty!).2011-03-15_11-10-28

Love this Dorothy Dreams tiara, which could provide the perfect pop of color if you wanted to go a bit dramatic with your wedding attire. It would also be gorgeous at a destination wedding, wouldn’t it?flowers-red-headpiece-offbeat-alternative-tattoo

Of course, if you’re going for a magical, woodland or Garden Party-esque feel, you have to have flowers. Lots and lots of perfectly placed flowers for a truly romantic look. These four certainly do the job (clockwise from upper left: Pansy, Lilliput, Joanna, Wishing and Hoping).flower-tiaras-natural-wedding-hairpieces

If flowers aren’t your thing, but you still want the natural crown look, she also has Requiem, which is cool because it’s that mix of soft and hard, and Twiggy, which is just the prettiest set of twigs I’ve ever seen.tiaras-flowers-branches-greenery-vintage-pretty-copyI should also mention that almost all of her tiaras have ribbons in the back so they’re self-adjusting (good for us folks with large noggins). And, of course, she has a ton more options over in her shop. Happy tiara-ing!

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide for the Gal in Your Life

Valentine’s Day is a pressure-filled holiday for guys. We get that. You want to get your fiancée a gift that is romantic, personal, and not over-done – easy peasy, right? In order to help ease the pressure a bit, we’ve put together a gift guide that takes some of Valentine’s perennial favorites (chocolate, jewelry, flowers) and turns them on their head a bit. Let’s just say, we wouldn’t mind getting any of these gifts in about a week (hint, hint, Husband).

Now I’m not saying anything against chocolate (heavens, no!), but cookies might be a nice change up this Valentine’s Day. Especially when they’re as cool as these tattoo sugar cookies from Whipped Bakeshop, which you can even personalize with your gal’s name. They may not be as permanent as a love tattoo, but I’m thinking they taste a whole lot better.love-tattoo-sugar-cookie-heart

Is there anything more romantic than writing a poem for your beloved that comes deep from within your heart? Probably not. But, I don’t know about you, just thinking about writing poetry gave me a 10th grade English flashbacks and now I’m feeling all clammy. Fortunately, Silvi from The Poetry Store feels nothing of the kind and will happily whip up a one-of-a-kind poem just for your honey. She also is available for events – how cool would it be to have a poet at your wedding reception?bird-poem-bottle-tag-vintage-typewriter

Valentine’s Day is traditionally about jewelry and nothing says she has your heart like this Giant Heart Pendant by Rachel Pfeffer. Made from sterling silver that has been hammered and oxidized, it’s simple yet stunning. Plus, the juxtaposition of gold and silver means it will match just about everything in her closet…large-heart-necklace-silver-gold

Or perhaps she’s not a heart kinda gal. This Epershand Necklace from Isette still speaks the language of love – it’s you and me, forever and ever (except in perhaps a bit more subtle manner). She also has versions in bamboo and black, as well as earrings and pins.ampersand-white-necklace-love

Candles can play a big role in creating a romantic Valentine’s Day mood (candlelit dinner, anyone?), but how cool would it be to able to recreate it over and over? These hand-blown glass votives from glassybaby are one-of-a-kind and the sort of thing she’ll hold onto and re-use for years to come. Plus, part of the proceeds are donated to patients who are struggling with cancer (the owner is a survivor herself).candles-heart-shape-red-glowing

Of course she loves getting big bouquets of flowers (note: you can never go wrong with a big bouquet) but for flowers that will last into Spring these Flowers in a Can are just the thing. Each set comes with two varieties and everything she needs to keep the blooms lasting as long as your love (hey, it’s Valentine’s Day, okay?).flowers-in-can-dahlia-pastels

Is there anything more romantic than listening to your favorite tunes together? Now instead of limiting yourself to one ear bug each (romantic, but hard to hear), the Tunes for Two Ear Splitter lets you both listen with your headphones at the same time. Plus, the adorable heart on top lets the world in on your secret – you’re seriously in love.iphone-ipod-heart-cords-ear-phones-two

What did I miss? I’m sure my husband could use lots more ideas…
