I have seen a lot of bouquets in a lot of different styles, but never have I stumbled upon the likes of Princess Lasertron‘s fun and festive offerings! For years, I enjoyed watching Duff Goldman and his harrowing cake tales on “Ace of Cakes”. Now, this isn’t going to make me come across as the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I was so used to marvelling at Charm City Cakes ‘ creations made to look like buildings, airplanes, animals, etc. that I never even thought about them and wedding cakes. Duh! (See what I mean?) Not surprisingly Duff and his team make some spectacular looking wedding cakes. Talk about a feast for the eyes!
I’m especially fond of the cake above with it’s elegant but whimsical design as well as the chocolate folk art cake below. Which is your favorite?

If there is one thing I obsess over more than cake, it’s paper. Having a fine arts background in printmaking, I’m in constant awe of all things paper and those who immerse themselves in this mutual adoration. Portland-based artist, Denise Sharp of Studio d. Sharp, is one such person and I marvel at what she dreams up and creates by hand.
Not surprisingly, Denise has a fine arts degree in sculpture and printmaking. And, she has put that training to great effect building a menagerie of stunning and sweet paper adornments and vintage-inspired ephemera. From her vintage stamp cake garlands and custom glitter monogram cake toppers to charming favor boxes declaring “You mean the world to me” or “You rock”, Denise beautifully crafts the kind of creations that are rich in meaning and individuality. And, isn’t that just what one wants in their wedding? Indeed!
