Bittersweet vine produces bright berries in the fall so it makes for a festive way to decorate for a fall wedding. This easy wreath will last well beyond the wedding day. Cost: $35

Supplies:

Approximately 8 long stems of bittersweet vine.

Spool wire

Ribbon

Scissors

Clippers

Steps:

1. Wire together two pieces of vine. Secure (as shown in the photo above) by twisting the wires around each other and bending them under the vine.

2. Keep adding vines and wrapping them around each other, securing with wire as you go.

3. After you add each vine, take stock of the shape and make any improvements as needed.

4. Lay the wreath down on a flat surface, make any adjustments to the shape and wire in smaller branches.

5. Add a bow by simply wrapping and tying your ribbon around a corner of the wreath. Choose a spot that has wire and just tie the ribbon over it.

Tips/Mistakes:

Bittersweet is easiest to work with when it is fresh and the berries are yellow. If you happen to buy it once the berries have popped open to red and they won’t bend, just wire the vines onto a wire wreath form. Please note: Bittersweet can be very messy and once it gets in a warm room the yellow berries will quickly pop open to red.
