I’ve been eager to feature today’s wedding for quite some time now. After reading the story of “how they met”…I knew the wedding story would be divine, and I couldn’t have been more accurate. So take a seat, grab an iPad2 to take style notes, and feast your eyes on a lovely match made in Canada.

SCENE #1: LADY & THE BLUE JAY
Today’s real wedding inspiration chronicles the glamorous tale of Pro Baseball Player – Adam Lind of the Toronto Blue Jays, and his stunning Bride – Lakeyshia Bertie. Be sure to check out the second part of the feature over at Wedding Nouveau.

Brides are finding creative ways to add a little glam to their big day by incorporating very accessible details such as sparkle accents, monochrome lighting and bouquet gemstones. Lakeyshia & Adam’s wedding was no exception, with hanging crystals to enhance their ceremonial space.
When asked about how she was able to pull off such a stunning affair with the demands of real life, Lakeyshia had some honest and candid insights:
The biggest challenge we faced was trying to work around Adam’s hectic baseball schedule. Fitting in tastings, DJ meetings and keeping him in the loop generally is not easy when you have 162 games that eat up the majority of time. Also, it can be difficult to get anything done when there are too many choices and options in front of your fiance. I think the best way I handled this was to avoid overwhelming him with too many options
I know many brides who share Lakeyshia’s experience (me included), and would totally agree with a cacophonous “Hell Yeah”, “Me too” peppered with an “Amen” here or there. If you’re fortunate to have a groom who’s just as excited about the theory of how the sum of cake flavors and kissable lipstick impact the square root of stationery paper vs. linen fabric… then consider yourself part of an elite group. Otherwise, take Lakeyshia’s advice to heart. Like your battles, pick and/or limit your choices….or let a planner handle the crazy planning equations.
