Tip #2-Hug a Tree!
Want to save some trees? There are many environmentally friendly ways to invite your friends and family to the wedding. Depending on your taste, there is an option for everyone:
- Use "Post Consumer" Recycled Paper: Recycled paper is just as beautiful as paper made from virgin trees. Besides, using recycled paper preserves trees and requires less bleaching. The use of bleach in the paper making process, releases a harmful toxin called "dioxin" which has been linked to cancer, birth defects, and reproductive disorders.
- Go Tree Free: According to rainforestrelief.org, paper made from trees is a relatively new phenomenon. It's been about 150 years that we have relied solely on trees for paper. Before that, paper was made from cotton, hemp and other plant materials. Even the United State Constitution is printed on hemp paper! My point is: there are some great "tree-free" paper options out there that are both elegant and eco-conscious.
- Go Digital: Send out save-the-date emails instead of the paper kind. This will save money and earthly resources.
